Hennessey recalled for cup tie

Tuesday 13th January 2009, 9:30AM GMT.

trn-hennessey.jpeg Goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey returns and Kevin Foley is out of the FA Cup tie against Birmingham as Wolves boss Mick McCarthy seems set for a ‘horses for courses’ approach.

McCarthy is striving for the right balance between picking a strong enough team to end his side’s worst run of the season and keeping players fresh for Saturday’s Championship trip to Bristol City.

The only definite starter McCarthy will reveal is keeper Hennessey, who has recovered from  a bug that kept him out of Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Preston, while Foley’s hamstring strain has again kept him out.

Jason Shackell seems set to keep his place in central defence.
