Moore tipped for top form

WEST BROM V MAN CITY 19 TS 21Goalkeeper Scott Carson believes Albion striker Luke Moore is close to unleashing his top form as he prepares to return to Villa.

The Baggies forward will make an emotional return to Villa Park on Saturday, with goalkeeper Carson predicting ‘the real Luke Moore’ is ready to return.

Carson, who has played with Moore at both clubs, believes Moore, who joined Albion a year ago after more than a decade in the Villa ranks, will be out to prove a point to his former club.

He said: “I think he will want to prove people wrong. He’ll probably say otherwise, but I’m sure at the back of his mind he will want to prove them wrong for getting rid of him.

“He’s taken his chance here well. He got a good goal against Manchester City and goes into this game full of confidence. Let’s hope he can get a couple of goals.

“I think we are close to seeing the real Luke Moore. He’s only played a couple of games, but all the lads could see his ability in training.

“He’s a great finisher. If he can get a run going then I’m sure the Albion fans will see the Luke Moore everyone used to describe as the ‘next big thing’.

“He’s got the potential. In the next few games, I think we’ll see why the manager signed him.”

Albion boss Tony Mowbray has handed Moore his big break in recent weeks following Ishmael Miller’s injury.

The Baggies boss said: “He has done fine, as I would have expected. He is working extremely hard.”
