Blues told to up offer

Wednesday 7th January 2009, 10:44AM GMT.

Kris Boyd’s prolific Rangers career is set to be over before the end of the week – if Birmingham agree to up their £3m offer for the striker.

The Scottish giants have confirmed they are prepared to sell their 25-year-old top scorer to Blues.

Boyd is coveted by former Rangers boss Alex McLeish, who wants the forward to boost his current side’s strikeforce at St Andrews.

Ibrox chairman Sir David Murray said: “Birmingham have made an enquiry. We talked about money but we haven’t agreed a fee.

“We rejected a bid of around £3m but if they improve it, we’ll allow them to speak to Kris Boyd.”
