Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

No fresh Palace move for Beattie

Albion manager Tony Mowbray insists Crystal Palace have made no fresh loan move for Craig Beattie – but Bartosz Slusarski could return to Sheffield Wednesday.
Both returned to the Hawthorns late last month after their one-month loan spell ended, but both clubs are known to want to resurrect a deal, with Slusarski the more likely to be let go.
Beattie has started a Premier League game and scored his first top flight goal against Tottenham since arriving back.
He remains on the fringes of the first-team, although his chances have been decreased by the arrival of loan signing Jay Simpson from Arsenal.
Slusarski appears no closer to the first-team as he was before he left, with Mowbray admitting his future is “up in the air.”
The Baggies boss said: “Craig scored against Tottenham and is working extremely hard. He came back with a real spring in his step and we’ve had no contact from Palace or anybody else.
“There is no point talking about his future other than to say he is our player, he has proved he can score in the Premier League and hopefully there are more goals there for him.
“It’s still up in the air with Bartosz. He is a good lad , I enjoy his humility and his natural professionalism.”
