Kidderminster skipper Mark Creighton has pledged another slab of steely determination as they shoot for FA Cup glory at Coventry City.

The Aggborough outfit – no stranger to FA Cup giant-killing in the last 20 years – will be backed by more than 2,000 fans as they attempt to grab the headlines at the expense of their Championship rivals.

Mark Yates’ men will be hoping to live up to a proud legacy of stirring Cup deeds by previous Harriers teams.

These took a then Premier League Wolves to a replay five years ago and 10 years before that eliminated Birmingham and Preston to reach the fifth round where they were stopped by West Ham.

And Creighton warns tomorrow’s opponents that his team are capable of making the most of their no-lose status in the build up to the third round tie.

“Chances are we’ll get beaten and we’re expected to get beaten, so we can go there with no fear,” says Creighton.

“We’ll go there and enjoy the game and if we get something, we get something and if we don’t then it’s still a fantastic day.

“It’s a nice place to go and the lads will enjoy it and it’s a chance for some of the lads to put their names out and test themselves against some of the better players in the country.”

Harriers head for The Ricoh in fine fettle after the 1-0 win at Torquay which Creighton believes was a dress rehearsal performance for the challenge facing them now.

He added: “At Torquay we had passion, determination and resolve. When they were coming at us and they just couldn’t break us down and score.”

And his manager Yates is promised a warm welcome by Coventry chairman Ray Ranson who once shared the same dressing room with the teenage Yates at Birmingham City.

“I don’t think I’ve seen Mark since the old days at St Andrew’s – but I remember he was a handsome devil with blond hair!” says Ranson.
