House fire arson fear
Tuesday 30th December 2008, 9:58AM GMT.
Flames ripped through an empty £300,000 detached house in a suspected arson attack in Wolverhampton today.
Firefighters were called to the address in Woodfield Avenue, Penn, just after midnight when a neighbour raised the alert.
The blaze gutted the living room, stairway and hall, leaving the remainder of the four-bedroomed property smoke-damaged. Two crews based at Merridale Street fire station spent 90 minutes at the scene, near Woodfield Junior School.
