An elderly man who died during a fire at his Wolverhampton home has been named as 82-year-old Alfred Tooth.

The widower, who lived alone, was found dead at his privately-owned semi-detached house in Tettenhall Wood, on December 18.

An inquest, which opened in Wolverhampton today, heard that he was certified dead by a doctor at 10.32am at the house in School Road. The hearing in Wolverhampton was adjourned to allow investigating officers more time to conduct inquiries.
