Time to map out a plan for Villa's future
- Says blogger Matthew Turvey
Wolves 1 Sheff Utd 1 – verdict
Friday 26th December 2008, 5:05PM GMT.
Wolves maintained their lead at the top of the league in an even battle with Sheffield United.
Neill Collins’ second goal in as many games had given the home side an early lead, only for James Beattie to equalise before half-time.
When Collins opened the scoring in the 18th minute, for the second match in succession Michael Kightly was the provider.
His corner in was at a great height for Collins and he steered it past goalkeeper Ian Bennett to open the scoring.
The lead lasted all of three minutes, with noted goalscorer Beattie the thorn in Wolves’ side.
Kyle Naughton found him in the six yard box and he doesn’t miss from there.
Wolves seven-point lead is safe and it could have been more – had Reading goalie Adam Federici not grabbed a stoppage time equaliser against Cardiff.

Absolutely shocking today- no passion and no ability- sheff utd are an average side that gave us the run around today..and we expect to even compete in the premier leagie? Im afraid this is a typical christmas perforamce from us seen it so many times during the years- also the line up and tactics were all wrong and the final straw was the decision to bring on keogh not vokes when we needed a goal – clueless- get a grip mc carthy before we are out of top two

“Sheffield United played well. They were the better team.
That bubble is bosting….Watford were 10 points clear last xmas….7 points clear and you lot think you are promoted, oh dear…..

A lucky point. Defensive nerves affected the whole team today. Ward had his worst game for a long time. I’m not sure why Jones is not playing at the moment as we could have done with him today. SEB also very quiet today – maybe he had too much Christmas pudding?
Lets hope for three points on Monday.
3- looked like most of the lads had too much christmas pudding today- sadly no surprise to everyone- expecting a comfortable 3 points against blackpool though and at least we are guaranteed goals with Rob Edwards in their defence
Report abuse
We looked tired today, Hennesey kept us in the game but was also at fault for their goal. We had chances, and so did they. It was an open game where either team could have won. But hey ho, still 7 points clear. Bring on Monday, as long as the games tick past and were still top, lets not worry about others, its in our hands.

Please put Karl Henry on the bench Mick!!
Well it looks as though the bubble is ready to burst.
Mick picked a team that looked sound on paper and yet it was lucky to make a draw. Micks substitutions looked suspect, but nobody was playing to their true capability. Why?
A few days ago we had Mick strutting his stuff and boasting about his on-to-ones with all the team. Has that destroyed everybody’s enthusiasm. It could not be nice to be told bluntly that you have no place in Mick’s plans for next season.
Mick is openly boasting about his Premiership prowess, in spite of his Sunderland failure. Who does he think that he is kidding? If Wolves get promotion, then he is number one “on trial” there!
Is it all starting to slowly unwind as Mick does his normal self-destruct?

We were lucky today no bite in midfield, can,t understand mm why play edwards instead of jones mm harps on about energy whats the point if you can,t hold a ball and pass it which jones does very well and keogh well mm if you do,nt want to score any goals bring on keogh he could,nt hit a barn door with handful of rice for me we need a general in midfield to hold things together now cus the pressure is mounting just hope we can hold on.

Why the negative comments?
32 points from 13 home games is a ridiculous tally. If were to keep (anything like) that up we need to stay behind the boys. Thought the problem today was that the ground was full, but it would have been better half empty and twice as voracious. But we can’t and won’t win them all. Perhaps people are too used to watchin prawn sandwich united or Chelski roll teams over each week on Space TV.
That said, disappointing game, but the individual bad games of Henry, SEB, Ward will change next game to someone else. No point in harpin on about it. They all need support, esp likes of Keogh, who I thought looked good when on, but the wind had gone out of the boys sails by then anyway.
Bring on 60 points for New Year!

Mancienne must start. We couldn’t get the ball down and play today, partly because we were constantly lumping it up from defence and winning nothing in the air. Mancienne is more likely to play quality balls along the deck from the back, which is what we needed.
Wardy got found out in a big this afternoon.

a big way, that is

The officials had the most inept game I have ever seen and Wolves must surely register a complaint!

We were poor all over the park today. Nervy, tired, bereft of ideas and in need of a day off. I read that the players were in yesterday morning for training. Making them work hard is one thing, but moral will drop if the lads have no escape from work. Christmas day should be a day for being with your family, even for Pro footballers. Is Mick pushing some of them too much?
Whats with all the negativity???? I thought it was a cracking match that was thoroughly entertaining! We ain’t gonna steamroller every flaming team that walks through the door especially as the longer you spend at the top, the bigger the motivation for other teams to come along and have a proper crack at you.
Sheffield had a point to prove and I thought they played very well, still think a point was a far reflection of the balance of play although think both sides could have easily nicked it!
Wardy came up against a very nimble winger in Dyer and it is the first time he has been found wanting but Mancienne soon put paid to that threat and I felt that was game over for them!
Wasn’t keen on the back passes and whilst Hennessey had a cracker I think i’d take the 7 million if it was on the table and use out more than ample cover.
A nippy winger signed in the window that can cover and more over put pressure on Kites and Jarv for a starting place and I think we can wrap this one up!
This is and has been a fantastic season, way beyond my wildest dreams so lets keep our feet on the ground and our expectations realistic. Take each game as it comes and just keep doing the business!!!!
Come on me babbies!

I carn’t believe MM stated WARD was ill or is that his excuse for his inability to play at left back, hre is no more a left back than he is a winger or centre forward. His other mate then comes on ie KEOGH and what does he do looses the ball everytime he gets it and does not track back. It is apparent we do not have a decent left back so give the job to HENRY and bring JONES into mid-field.
One bright spot again was FOLLY and if EB has to go off bring VOKES on not KEOGH.
COLLINS instead of MANCINE MM is realy losing the plot.
Brian Clough used to tell the Forest players to win the ball and pass it to a player in a red shirt. I think Mick told the Wolves players the same thing today, but forgot to change it to gold shirt. Edwards and Henry were woeful in their passing today. Jones should have been brought on for one of them. Henry looks like he needs a rest.
Mancienne should have come on for Ward a lot earlier. It was obvious for the entire first half that Ward couldn’t handle the Sheffield winger. For that matter he could have usefully started at left back.
Vokes caused trouble for their defence when he came on. Pity he didn’t get a longer run out, as bringing on you Kneogh who was a complete waste of time. When our strikers are getting a battering from a hard defence that substitution was particularly pointless.
Can anyone explain why Iwelumo is penalised so often, for what look like perfectly reasonable challenges, yet when the defenders are holding him down or climbing on his back nothing happens to them.
Finally, given that most of our best chances came from Jarvis’s crosses, why was he taken off?
we didnt play too well 2day,henry couldnt provide a pass, seb never had the ball, kightly had 3 blokes on him every time he touched the ball!big chris didnt look fit and was ten yards behind all the time, ward couldnt provide a pass or tackle,however…..we didnt lose, and we are 7 points clear!we need to invest in new players though

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING DISPLAY. YES THE BUBBLE IS BURSTING, THATS BEEN OBVIOUS FOR WEEKS NOW. IF WE KEEP PUTTING PERFORMANCES IN LIKE THE LAST 4.. THEN WE’LL BE STRUGGLING TO KEEP IN THE PLAY OFF PLACES.
DOESN’T MATTER WHO WE PLAY NOW, WE’RE BEING MADE TO LOOK AVERAGE. NO FIRE POWER UP FRONT, NOTHING IN MIDFIELD AND DEFENSIVELY..WE’RE A BLOODY JOKE. ALL THE BAD ELEMENTS FROM LAST SEASON ARE COMMING TO THE FORE AGAIN.
I HOPE I’M WRONG.. BUT A 6TH OR 7TH PLACE FINISH IS CURRENTLY LOOKING MORE REALISTIC THAN AUTOMATIC PROMOTION. I DON’T BLAME MICK..BUT OUR SO CALLED STAR PLAYERS..AIN’T AS GOOD AS THEY THINK THEY ARE.

Just read Miks post match comments, Ward had a bug apparently so why was he playing ?? You annot drop a player of Manciennes class , this showed when he bottled up Dyer as soon as he came on. January window needs a tackling mid filed player and a cover striker cos if Keogh is the answer then the wrong question is being asked.

Morning sports fans
We gave the ball away too easily in Midfield, Henry had a bad one & Edwards wasn’t much better, those 2 need to retain the ball for us.But sometimes that happens when you play with 2 wingers.
Would liked to see Jones start ysterday.
And I agree with 11 why swap SEB for Keogh who was just awful when he came, never found a Wolves shirt!!!
But overall this was a decent point against a fired up Sheff Utd team who were dead on their feet in the last 15 & we should have nicked the win at the death.
Disagree with MOM Hennessey gave them the goal, yes he had a decent game but Foley was outstanding, both at the back & going forward.
As for the ‘bubble bursting’??? don’t think one goal conceded in 4 games & 10 points to the good, what planet are some of you on, every time we drop any points the merchants of doom come out, all I’ll say is think back 12 mths, we would have been soundly beaten yesterday by a team that come to the Mol & played like that.
Keep the faith

Shocking performance. And it all stemmed from Mick’s lovechildren Ward and Collins. Their right winger had a yard of pace and what happens? He skins Ward every time. Come on then Mick tell us now how great a left back Ward is??? He was a liability and should have been hauled off after 15 minutes not 60. We have a Chelsea player sitting on the bench and we play Ward and Collins ahead of him???
I’m sorry Mick the result and performance yesterday was down to your stupidity. We will never get out of this league with these players in the side.

Come on people, lighten up a little. Yes we had a bad game – Henry in particular I thought was absolutely shocking. I cannot see why Collins and Wardy are getting so much stick, both me and my lad thought they had decent games. I agree that Mancienne should have started by I whole heartedly support Mick’s policy of not changing a winning side. We are still 7 clear thanks to Reading dropping points at home to Cardiff. These things are gonna happen in this league. Like Mick said, if you would have said we could have 4 points out of Sheff United at the start of the season I would have bitten your hand off. They are a very good side and play the counter attack very well indeed. We played lovely stuff up to when we got the goal and then we started lumping the ball forward playing right in to their hands. They packed the defence then broke quickly after cleaning up probably 90% of our hoofs forward. We are a footballing team and have to do it that way. I am dissapointed but a point is better than nothing. On to the next game and lets get another 3 against Blackpool. If we can do that and with the way this league is going I would estimate another 10 wins and a couple of draws should see us fairly comfortably in the top 2.
35. Grace….my friend, a superb summary if I may say so !!
34. frankpole….agree we need a ball winner in January. At the start of the season the midfield was winning practically everything. They were fighting for the ball. That passion seems to have gone for now so yes it needs a change. Henry in particular was poor.

What the Happy Clappers forget is that EVERYONE who comes on here want the Wolves to succeed, where there is debate is how to do that.Common sense goes out of the window and as for the selections that the Manager is making well. Why play Ward when he is ill? Is Mancienne a better player than Collins? The situation was crying out for Jones to come on put his foot on it and PASS the Ball accurately. Why keep bringing on Keogh when he can’t put the ball i n the net? I suppose that this will get the usual childish response of idiot etc but just THINK about it.

Reading some of the cmments on here i’m struggling to understand why MENSA ever had their headquarters in Wolverhampton. For crying out loud we’re top of the league, 7 points clear. We may well not be playing as fluently as we were, but we’re grinding out results, that’s what promotion winning sides do.
Knock the moaning on the head, you’re an embarrassment to the club.
Lets have a sense of perspective PLEASE…
7 points clear of two relegated sides who have basically the same team they came down with!…
We may need the 7 points as we have to go to Royals and Blues yet – I suspect and pray that Reading sell a few in January – Doyle in paticular is head and shoulders the best player in the Championship in my opinion….looks like Jerome is wanted by a few Premiership sides too – so that weakens Blues….WATCH OUT FOR CARDIFF THOUGH!…astute Loan signings in Routledge and Chopra – if they stay and McCormack gets fit they could snatch second off any of us top three…
Blackpool is a KEY GAME…lets assume Blues (v Swansea) and Reading (v Saints) both win….thats a four point gap going in to Monday night – how their manager walking out on them will affect them – who knows??…
We have looked mentally jaded the past 2 – 3 weeks – so MM then has a big decision to make for the Cup game – do we go for it – or field a much changed side???….
I dont buy the pshycological advantage stuff – if we win lose or draw at Blues in the Cup – I dont think it’ll affect the League game there….what would be a disister is a REPLAY!….

Its the same problem against the other top sides in this division. They play 3 in midfield and outnumber Henry & Edwards, and isolate our widemen, put their speediest player on the right wing and we struggle. Reading, Blues, Sheff Utd, and even Bristol City played almost exclusively down our right side, why – their managers see a weakness, which was clearly evidenced yesterday, and we leave a pacey left back from 3 clean sheets out of the squad, and a Chelsea reserve on the bench. Why?

It does seem rather strange that our “prolific” strikers have not scored since December 9th, however, while others can pop 1 or 2 in that will have to keep us going for the timebeing. The Keogh supporters on here, the ones that call me a muppet should have had a good look at him yesterday, where was he playing, what has he done this season to earn his place,2 goals,Freddy Eastwood was crucified last season for producing the same stuff.why have an England international on loan to warm the bench,Wayne is a good keeper, but he needs to dominate his box and get rid of the ball quicker,,Foley,Mancienne,Stears, and Wardy left to play together and develop an understanding will be sound.Kites and Jarvo on the wings and I mean on the wings make them stay wide take players on and provide for big Chriss and Sylvan. The problem is the middle of the field we need a couple of players there to play make and provide. Finally super mick, iff it aint bust dont meddle, dont change the side to suit your favouritesAndy Keogh is not good enough to get in our side,Gobern,Vokes, even Rachael Hey-Ho Flynn are better.

I also thought Wolves recent performances have been woeful, similar to last season. We were very lucky to get a point, Hennesey alone won us the point. Only Foley & Mancienne, when he came on, subdued Sheffield as an attacking threat. We were sliced open too many times, Stearman becomes vulnerable with Collins, the understanding is not there. Midfield two were useless, needed the ball out to Jarvis alot more, do not know what is up with Kightly? Quality players find a way of players doubling up to you. Need quality in the middle of the park, and a winger in January, and maybe even a striker, to play alongside vokes, to rest both blakes and iwelumo.

Look at how we finished the game – our best centreback playing at leftback, right winger playing down the left, an out of form striker playing on the right – coupled with our totally inept midfield pairing – is it any wonder we struggled?? Some of you lot really are beginning to sound like the boggies, talking gloom and doom and whinging about the manager.. They won one match in 11 .. we were unbeaten 8 in a row.. Seems to me some people need to pull their heads out of the dirt and realise just how spectacular we have been this season, you can’t pick and choose when to be a supporter and when not to. You stick with your team through thick and thin, through the good spells and the bad.. And I don’t think a draw and 1 point against a team that could have easily nicked the win at anytime as bad at all. It’s been said a hundred times, because it’s true.. YOU CAN’T WIN them all, but we didn’t lose it either, we’re 7 points clear of Blues and Reading and compared to our performance last season, i’m damn proud of the stage we are at, seems some people are fickle, but as a true fan.. UP THE WOLVES!

Every team that plays us now is treating it as their Cup Final and playing at their max. We have to realise this quickly if we want automatic promotion.
Adding to the squad with one or two impact players this Jan is essential given our league position. One or two players are starting to look a bit tired – perhaps giving SEB a one game rest might do him the world of good.

Seasons greetings fellow Wolves fans. I am only suprised at how naive some fans are, Torquay being just plain stupid though. A season ‘develops’, it is fairly comfortable eary on as no one is in danger of being relegated or promoted and games are a bit ‘soft’. Then we see the table unfold and a lot of mental changes take place as some teams suddenly realsie they are likely to be on Lge 1 wages if they do not buck up and others see they have started the race too slow and need to catch up if they are to have a go at reaching the Promised Land. Suddenly the games that looked easy are incredibly hard, Wolves have yet to make their ‘mental’ adjustment, they found themselves out in front and thought they are much better than they really are, now they need to wake up and do what the other teams are doing, fight for their lives! Every confidence they will and would suggest a Vokes start against Blackpool resting SEb for a couple of games.
Happy New Year when it comes.

have watched many sheff utd teams at wolves over the years and even when bully was banging them in they had brian dean etc doing the same for them. most matches against them at that time seem to end in draws. they are an extremely hard physical team to beat and in view of the poor officials i think we did well to get a point. more specifically SEB was not at his best and although i agree with some of the comments on keoghs weakness’ enthusiasm is not one of them and when he came on at least there was some endeavour and urgency which led to chances for vokes and kightley. biggest problem for me is edwards he is a gifted touch player but lots of his passes fall short of target and let them back at the defence we need jones against the teams with

Christmas Report:
Hennessey- Not commanding enough and a bit of a flapper.
Foley- No complaints.
Ward- Not a defender.
Collins- Good cover for injuries.
Stearman- Generally good but tends to play too high up pitch which results in him having to chase back and launch last ditch challenges.
Mancienne- Class player on -loan from a top premiership club therefore should start every game when he is able.
Edwards- Ok in spurts when coming off bench, passing a bit iffy.
Jones- Good passer ,reads game well and our best chance from dead ball positions, should always start.
Henry- Has had a good season so far and gives his all but performances starting to dip a little now.
Kightly- Good player generally but been quiet for a few matches now- needs to find that spark again.
Jarvis- steadily settling back in after injury- class player -will be ok.
Ebanks-Blake- Good finisher when he gets the chances but needs to improve his all round game looks out of sorts at moment.
Iwelumo- Really gome off the boil lately, constantly pulled up by referees for backing in, decisions look harsh but keep getting given- needs a rest.
Hill- natural left -back, therefore should be playing.
Keogh- This guy is not worthy of the shirt. He is a striker who cannot score, cannot tackle and gives the ball away more times than he doesn’t.
It summed him up at Doncaster when he hit the bar with his first shot then hit the post with the rebound then after a couple of our boys had shots cleared off the line it fell for him again and he blasted over. Three shots in succession and not one on target!!
McCarthy needs to inject some freshness into the team in January, whether it be new signings ,loan signings or players already at the club i.e Mark Davies, Daniel Jones and start playing players in their correct positions and please Mick for all our sakes- dump Keogh!!
We can still do it with a bit of fine tuning…and all those on here who keep moaning at the so-called whingers, stop looking at everything through rose-tinted spectacles, we aren’t as convincing as we were and some of MMs decisions do leave a lot to be desired, but like I say with a few adjustments we can still get one of those automatic positions..
So chins up lads and lasses , heres to a great 2009.
Hapy New Year to all….

As a season ticket holder and obviously watching every week, im getting slightly concerened at how we have been playing over the last few weeks, compared to how we were playing in the summer we look a different team, obviously in the summer the legs were fresher but at the moment were looking very nervy and we can’t seem to get a grip of any game and get the ball on the deck, at the moment the midfield is non existent, sometimes it’s embarrasing to watch. Im not having a moan because the table doesnt lie so we are doing something right, but Mick i have to question some of your decision making, against Sheffield United you pull off Blakey (fair doo’s) but replace him with the most in-efficent player in the squad why not replace him with Voksey?? at leat he’l have a pop!! and then you take off our most creative player in Jarvis!! C’mon Mick you have been doing well all year dont ruin it, it’s obvious you have your favorites but use your loaf!!! Mancciene is a different class we have to start with our strongest team that doesnt include Neill Collins or Dave Edwards, Fingers crossed for Blackpool if were serious about promotion then we have to win this one! One more thing…..the referee on Boxing Day has to be the worst ref ive seen down here all year what a disgrace im sure i saw a red and white strip under his black jersey!! Surely Wolves have to complain to the FA! Up the Wolves!!

got to agree with everyone the officials were apalling and i think iwellumo must have been having an affair with the refs wife cus he got nothing out of him, apart from morgans elbow in the penalty area (or was i the only one who saw that?) every time he challenged for the ball free kick to s.u. something should be done, totally inept from all 3 officials having said that good point well earned against a side with some good quality players with prem league experience.

Not many fans seem to give Sheff Utd any credit for pressing Wolves in this game – they kept it wide and that short guy on the wing gave Ward a torrid time – Mancienne seemed to have a “busy” time with him aswell – Quite an open game with both sides missing chances – Yes Wayne Hennessey “spilled” the ball that led to Sheff Utd’s goal BUT we are not going to “walk over” every team in this league and have no devine right to just “turn up” and win
On the other hand, young Wayne made some terrific saves that kept us in the game
Kites was not as effective on the wing, we sat too deep alot during the game and Sheff Utd pressed us very well (as for N Collins – he scored and didnt look out of place in the game) – young Steven Ward was given a hard time by Dyer (short winger/ wide man) who played well for Sheff Utd – but the lad (S Ward) has done very well in other games so hey why dont we cut him some slack? (Even Mancienne and Kites found it difficult against the lad as his abillity, height and speed would have made it difficult for any players in this league)
What really matters is how we “bounce back” in the next set of games; This game is over, we got a point lets move on – NEXT!
Happy New Year to One & ALL
UP THE WOLVES!

Remember. At the start of the season Reading,Birmingham and Sheffield united were favorites to win this league. We find ourselves 7 poins ahead of the field and you moan. The people who complain about Collins and Ward need some instruction on how to play football. We are 7 points clear. we are also increasing the distance between the others. FOR GODS SAKE STOP MOAING. WE WILL GET PROMOTED DESPITE YOU

I have to disagree with the negative comments and the over reaction by some.
We were well below par against the blades i admit, but we still earned a valuable point.
We wont win every game and we wont play our best every game.
Its a fact of life and i cant believe anyone could think otherwise.
The lads have been superb in the main, have been the best team in the league and have a 7 point lead over the next best teams.
We are on course for promotion…..whats your beef?

AGREE WITH SOUTHBANK BARMEY ARMY WE ARE BEING MADE TO LOOK AVERAGE, OUR TWO STRIKERS HAVE BEEN WORKED OUT BY OTHER TEAMS, UNLESS SOMETHING RADICAL HAPPENS AT THE SELECTION TABLE, WE WILL LOSE AT BLACKPOOL…AND THAT WOULD MAKE ALL THE MUPPETS WHO ARE TELLING US NOT TO WORRY, TO SIT UP AND TAKE NOTICE.
THROW A FEW NEW FACES UP FRONT, DROP EBANKS AND CHRIS FOR THIS MATCH, AND LET THE OTHER BOYS WORK BLACKPOOL OUT THEMSELVES.
UNLESS YOU MAKE SEVERAL CHANGES FOR TODAYS GAME
MICK, AND I THINK YOU WILL HAVE A FEW SURPRISES FOR THE SUPPORTERS, WOLVES WILL LOSE ON A REPEAT PERFORMANCE OF RECENT GAMES.
DROP EBANKS AND CHRIS WHO HAVE NOT PUT IN FOR WEEKS

51, Would you define woeful for me plz.
Is that the same as 10 points collected from the last 5 games with only 2 goals conceded & & 7 scored.
Oh yeah, shall we go a bit further back where we picked up 21 from a possible 24.
Sorry to question you but I’m just a bit confused, coz I’ve watched footy all around europe & tend to think I know what I’m watching & 57 points from 25 games & 52 goals scored is absolutely FANTASTIC, no argument!!!!
Please people we have a great young side which will be strengthened shortly, get behind them because they WILL make us proud.
Leave the negativity at the turnstyle.
Keep the faith

The Wolves forwards have stopped scoring under direct instructions from manager Mick McCarthy.
The hope is that this will stop scouts from Premiership clubs from recommending that their clubs put in bids for them.
This is a cunning plan that could only have emulated from a Yorkshire man.
You heard it here first!

I think we all agree that Sheffield were the better team on the day.
There is just one question I would like Mick to answer, Stephen ward was getting battered by their winger ill or not and Neil Collins is too slow to cover for him that was obvious to most people.
Sitting on the bench was a very, very capable defender in Michael Mancienne who in my opinion should have started the game or at least been introduced after 20 minutes.
Why did we have to wait until the second half for the change to be made, it did solve the problem, is this the stubborn streak in a good manager that will eventually be his failing or is it lack insight to see a problem immediately?
I have to say that players of Mancienne’s talent should never be sitting on the bench when they are fit to play, if you don’t need him Mick send him back he has premiership status and we are lucky to have him.

The main reason for passing back to the keeper is when a player is hard pressed in clearing his line. The number of times the ball was passed back to Hennessey was a defeatist attitude. Why? simply because no player got into position to receive the ball & there was no option other than to pass back. Only 3 players have the ability to think ahead & the best out of those 3 is Mancienne.

74,
I reckon Beattie is looking up at SEB in the goal scoring leagues, what do do reckon???
How can you, supposedly a Wolves fan have a pop at our own forward who ain’t stopped scoring since he has been at the club.
Why doesn’t anyone on here seem to give Sheff Utd for what was a v good performance, as good as I have seen anyone play down here, why do people have to slag off our own team?????
Now I certainly ain’t a ‘happy clapper’ as some of you refer to others on here, but for god sakejust stop whinging we are 6 points clear with a game in hand, how good do you want it to be????
No wonder we have a reputation for having the most fickle fans in the country, get real.
Stop Whineing

Let’s look at it positively. We played poorly and didn’t deserve anything but got a point.Let’s hope there are not too many more poor performances.

we had a bad game so what!
the players had a good christmas, were top of the league & you cant win them all. also the crowd didnt make much noise so were to blame aswell.

65 Well said. Watching a game and making comments about what went wrong and what could have been done better doesn’t make you “fickle” or a “so called fan” or “waiting for the bubble to burst”. It means you think we could have done better. As for “we can’t expect to win every match”, well we can expect to, but in reality we know we won’t and after games like the Reading one we accept we were beaten by the better team on the day. But on Saturday we could have won.

hopefully normal service will be restored tonight, ie a win, keep the faith all you doubting thomases.
