Trejo still an Albion target

trejo.jpegAlbion boss Tony Mowbray has still not ruled out a fresh move for Real Mallorca striker Oscar Trejo next month.

The 20-year-old Argentine remains on Albion’s wanted list and boss Mowbray could return to the La Liga side, with a fresh enquiry in January after chasing him in the summer.

But Mowbray has again made it clear the creative youngster is not among his top transfer window targets – because he is not regarded as a prolific scorer.

The Baggies boss said: “He’s not in Mallorca’s team. He’s not high on my list but he could be one of two or three who maybe comes to fruition.”

Mowbray will rely entirely on loans in January, unless he can sell some of his own fringe players to raise transfer funds for himself.

Mallorca have yet to give a clear indication whether they would consider loaning Trejo, ahead of a potential permanent deal dependent on Albion’s Premier League survival.

The Albion manager is continuing to monitor other potential loan targets at home and abroad.

Club sources have also played down claims that Slovenian striker Zlatko Dedic, of Serie A side Frosinone, is being lined up for a move. They have watched the 25-year-old but he is not a top target.

But South Korean international Yeom Ki-hoon, 24, has checked in for a trial. Ulsan Tigers midfielder Yeom has scored three goals in 20 internationals and would be available on loan.
