Jarvis ready to gatecrash Wolves

QPR V WOLVES 12 GD 06Matt Jarvis admits he is ready to gatecrash Wolves’ promotion plans.

The flying winger added another 73 minutes to his comeback trail yesterday, with an eye-catching display in a friendly against Sunderland as Wolves lost 2-1.

Jarvis made his comeback from a hamstring tear with a highly impressive half-an- hour at QPR on December 6 but has been restricted to just a few minutes action against Derby and Barnsley since.

The wide man set up Wolves’ goal for Sam Vokes, went close to scoring himself on two occasions and was also denied what appeared to be a blatant penalty.

Jarvis said: ““I felt good – it was a 70-minute run-out and I enjoyed it. In the first-half I got a lot of the ball and I tried to make the most of it.

“The hamstring feels good. I want to get as many minutes as I can, but I’m just waiting to for the nod.

“I’m ready and waiting if called upon. We’ve been winning and playing well so I’ve just got to be patient and wait for my chance.”

The 22-year-old has followed his rehabilitation programme to the letter, putting in the hours in the gym and on the training pitches with extra strengthening and stretching work that will form part of his routine for many years to come.

The former Gillingham man insists he is ready for a more prolonged first team stint.

Jarvis added: “Right from the start, the gaffer has said I’ve got to be 100 per cent when I come back. I’ve worked really hard with the physios and not been rushed.

“I’ve pushed on every week and it’s got me where I am now which is fully fit and raring to go.”
