Baggies eyeing young Gunners

Albion are keeping tabs on Arsenal’s young Carling Cup stars as they draw up a January transfer shortlist.
Baggies boss Tony Mowbray has not ruled out loan raids on the Emirates Stadium for one of Arsene Wenger’s talented youngsters. But Mowbray today insisted he will not chase signings from the Gunners purely on reputations.
“You don’t just go and get the Arsenal kids because they are Arsenal kids,” said Mowbray.
“A 16-year-old from Arsenal may not, in my opinion, be a better fit in our team than one of my players.
“He might be a great player but he might not be ready for our team or better than the player we have got who is a seasoned international.
“You don’t just go and get them but if there is a player who Arsenal or any team has got who could help the balance or make-up of your team you have to ask the question.
“When the time comes I am sure those questions will be asked if we think the right balance and the right players are there.
“If they have a certain player that fits the jigsaw puzzle here and is good enough we will ask the question.
“If Mr Wenger says he can go out on loan that’s great, but I would suggest they have already taken dozens of calls from every team in the Championship and half the Premier League for some of their players.”
The Gunners’ defeat in the Carling Cup quarter-final to Burnley has left Wenger’s young stars with no more ‘first team’ openings this season.
But Albion’s most obvious target – Mexican striker Carlos Vela – could be off-limits after forcing his way into Premier League and Champions League squads at the Emirates Stadium.
Midfielders Jack Wils-here, Amaury Bischoff and Aaron Ramsey could all leave Arsenal on loan but Mowbray is pledging to make no ‘panic signings’.
* Meanwhile Lithuanian trialist Mindaugas Kalonas has now checked in at Albion for a trial. The out-of-contract midfielder will train for a week.

IF we could get Vela on loan for the rest of the season, I’d be a very happy, and very confident Nedball!!
Surely Wenger can see that playing every week for the Albion, in the Prem would be better for him than playing 10 mins here and there from the bench for Arsenal?!?!
Their left winger looked like a good player too I thought. Anyone have any other ideas who we should go for??

Any young player from the top 4 club would we great, im sure wenger would see the albion has a good team to nurture is young guns and give them prem experience, because of the way we play. Which was a lot different to when Robson was manager when brum loaned bendnar, muamba & seb larrson and wenger said he was not prepared to loan his young players to west brom because of the drinking culture.
Also the Chelsea away game boxing day as angered me how they are charging us £45-48 a ticket with only an allocation of 1400 tickets when we gave them 2500 when our ground is smaller. But going to watch the albion on boxing day is a great tradition whatever the price so When i tried to purchase my ticket online yesterday it wouldn’t let me, so i rang up the ticket office and they said i didn’t have enough loyalty points and can’t get a ticket until tuesday although i’ve been to all 8 league away games and a season ticket holder,

5 – Should’ve gone to Hartlepool away in the Cup then!! ;-)

Number 5 – Chelsea were given 2500 to get more fans into the ground as Albion were not filling the Hawthorns. 1400 tickets is all that Albion wanted due to low sales at that price. They will increase it to 2000 if there is a demand for them.

7 – we all know that’s not true, so stop posting stuff that’s typical of the second word of your blog name!!

I think that our reserve players, should be given a chance to play. There is a youngster which might be the next big thing, he is called Elford-Alliyu. I also reckon we NEED some Arsenal Players because they need the experience and we need the enthusiam that they will bring.

I wonder if these Gunners are going to be the same as the existing Baggies and FIRE BLANKS.
Aye aye, ding dong PenDonkalty.
