Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Gera’s was right to leave – Davies
Friday 28th November 2008, 2:17PM GMT.
Villa defender Curtis Davies admits he does not blame former Albion team-mate Zoltan Gera for treading the same beaten path away from the Hawthorns.
The pair will meet for the first time since their spell together at the Baggies when the Hungarian midfielder’s Fulham side visit Villa Park.
Gera left Albion this summer for a better deal at Craven Cottage, while former Baggies skipper Davies made his £10million move to Villa permanent, after a year-long loan with Martin O’Neill’s side.
Davies believes Gera received a “raw deal” at Albion’s hands and is delighted to see a player he holds in high regard – on and off the field – doing so well.
The centre-back said: “Zolly is a top man. I’m glad he is doing well for himself and enjoying his football. At West Brom I think he was given a raw deal in the way they tried to deal with his contract and I don’t blame him for leaving really.
“I’m just glad to see him playing week in, week out in the Premier League where he deserves to be playing. He’s one of those lovely people that make you smile all day.”
Both players have already returned to the Hawthorns with their respective clubs this season, with the reception reserved for Davies the more severe of the two.

Why does he always seem available to make comments regarding things that have naff all to do with him!! Unless he was acting as Gera,s agent how would he know what was going on regarding contract negotiations!! I alwys assumed it was a private matter between the club, player and his representatives. Maybe he knows now who we will be signing/loaning in January? In Mowbray we trust!

Typical of Davies, he must really miss being at the Albion seeing as he comments on us all the time. Perhaps the splinters in his bum are making him jumpy?????

Curtis Davies is so thick its unbelievable. I know the majority of footballers are stupid but he takes it to a new level. Who at Aston Villa feels that its a good idea to keep wheeling this bozo out for the press. He even once said that he wouldn’t blame Barry leaving for a bigger club!
do us all a favour and stop printing this dross Express and star

Davies must really be missing the Albion if he has to comment on us every chance he gets. Must be boring warming the bench all the time!!

why the hell does rent a comment davies have to spout his clap trap whenever he gets the chance. i’m beginning to think even paul “nobody understands me” merson was actually worth listening to. play your football, take your over inflated money and leave it at that, nobody conected with west brom wants to listen to you. it maybe the reason you were sold in the first place, you got on the other players nerves!!
