jimmy-carr-3-index.jpgWolverhampton just can’t seem to get enough of Jimmy Carr. On the eve of two sold-out shows at the Civic Hall on Friday and Saturday a third date has been announced for next June.

Tickets for the extra date Saturday June 6, 2009, go on sale tomorrow, Friday, November 28, at 10am.

Civic Hall spokesman Jonn Penney said: “It appears that Jimmy likes Wolverhampton . . . judging by the demand for tickets, the feeling is mutual!”

The Jimmy Carr: Joke Technician tour kicked off last month, with the Guardian purring: “A masterclass in comedy. Carr’s persona is irresistible and his wisecracks have you quivering with satisfaction.”

Never one to recycle jokes, the Joke Technician tour contains all-new, unseen material, completely updated from that seen in any of his previous performances and DVD releases.

As Carr explains: “This show is exactly the same as last year’s except every single word. It’s rude, crude and offensive but those aren’t the only reasons you’ll enjoy it.”

Over the past few years, Carr has deservedly earned his place amongst the premiere league of British comics. His stand-up achievements to date include a British Comedy Award for Best Live Stand Up Tour, a Loaded LAFTA Award for Best Stand Up, a Perrier Award nomination, Best Stand Up at the Time Out Awards and Best on Screen Newcomer from the Royal Television Society.
Jimmy Carr’s prolific career has already seen him scoop awards for Best Stand-Up Tour, Funniest Man and Best Game Show for Distraction, as well as slots in scores of hit TV shows including 8 out of 10 Cats and the Big Fat Quiz of the Year.

Carr has lined up a number of other Midland dates over the next few months, including Birmingham Symphony Hall on December 1, 2008, and January 30, 2009 and Dudley Concert Hall on  January 29, 2009.
