Frank Skinner to make star turn

Saturday 22nd November 2008, 11:26AM GMT.

Comedian Frank Skinner could be the next person to grace the Walk of Stars on Birmingham’s Broad Street.

The Oldbury-born chat show host has said he would be thrilled to see his name added to the list and a letter has been sent to him offering the chance.

Frank, an avid Baggies fan, said he had originally been told that because he was born in Sandwell he may not be eligible.

But after fellow Black Country star Noddy Holder was immortalised, he realised he could also be in the running. He said: “I’d quite like to be on the Walk of Stars. Who wouldn’t?”

Tomorrow, Black Sabbath star Tony Iommi is due to become the latest to see his named set down in cement.

The official unveiling will coincide with a free Broad Street Rocks gig on Sunday afternoon in Centenary Square, kicking off on stage at 4.30pm.
