Ferret’s playtime squeeze
Saturday 22nd November 2008, 11:25AM GMT.
An albino ferret was cut out of a drainpipe by firefighters in Bloxwich today.
The creature’s owner took the animal, encased in a section of pipe, into the town’s fire station after it got stuck fast. Its head was poking out of one end, and the tail out of the other.
The ferret ‘s owner called into the station at 9.30am.
Blue Watch crew commander Martin Davis said: “A lady and her son brought it in, and all we had to go on was a bit of pipe with a head sticking out of one end and a tail and feet out of the other.
“It was a T-section of pipe which had been put in the ferret’s pen for it to play in, which was fine when it was younger, but it had outgrown it and got well and truly wedged.
“We cut it lengthways and released it.
“It was a bit distressed but it soon calmed down and went home happy with its owner.”
