Just 16 months after the railway between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth was devastated by flood damage, the world-class attraction has got back on track and been voted tops for its entertainment value, all-round excellence and remarkable reconstruction campaign.

The railway beat all-comers to gain the gold medal for the Best Tourism Experience in the Heart of England Excellence in Tourism awards.

Now it is set to go forward to compete against other regional winners in next year’s national finals.

The railway was also chosen as having made the most outstanding contribution to tourism in the West Midlands .
