Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Olsson tipped as future skipper

Albion boss Tony Mowbray has tipped giant defender Jonas Olsson as a future Baggies captain.
Mowbray reckons the big Swede’s attitude could make him an ideal leader for the club in future years.
The boss revealed Olsson is already showing his ‘angry side’ in the Hawthorns dressing room.
Mowbray said: “Big Jonas came to us for about a million Euros. When I watched him I could see his technical ability and I could see that he was a winner, a leader.
“He will grow on supporters, if he hasn’t already. We talk about leaders and he is a real leader, certainly a potential leader of this team.
“He gets very annoyed and angry after games, kicks holes in walls, wants to punch anything that moves and needs calming and settling down.
“That passion within him we can hopefully guide him into one day being a potential, future captain. We have to channel those qualities but we’re happy enough with Olsson.”
Olsson has been a virtual ever-present since his £850,000 switch from Dutch top division side NEC Nijmegen in August.
He has maintained solid form despite the Baggies’ recent struggles against some of the Premier League’s best sides.
The Sweden stopper is set to retain his place at Stoke alongside new central defensive partner Abdoulaye Meite, who returned from a 10-week injury lay-off against Chelsea last week.
Mowbray said: “Jonas has settled in okay and I’m looking for more like him, people of a similar standard. This team is only a year old. We made so many changes when we first came in.
“They haven’t been together for long and have to evolve together.”
