Two charity shop workers who found love amongst the bric-a-brac are set to tie the knot after a surprise proposal in store.
Loved-up Colin Doleman and Christine Hatherill are now planning for their big day following his shock proposal at the British Heart Foundation shop in West Bromwich.
The couple have enjoyed a whirlwind romance, meeting just three months ago when Christine, aged 59, started work at the shop and inspired regular customer Colin to join the team.
Fellow volunteers at the store have managed to keep tight-lipped for days about the proposal, and were delighted when Christine said yes straight away. Mother-of-four Christine said: “I’m shocked, I can’t stop shaking. He has been lovely and has put a smile on my face and I am really excited.”
Colin, aged 61, from Farley Street in Tipton, added: “My first wife died four years ago and meeting Christine has given me a reason to smile again.”
Christine, of Barnstaple Road, Smethwick, has been married twice before and divorced her last husband three years ago. But she said Colin is definitely the man to keep her happy.
