Wolves striker Chris Iwelumo has tipped a trio of his Wolves team-mates to follow Michael Mancienne into the England squad

Mancienne’s shock call-up to Fabio Capello’s full squad for Wednesday’s friendly against Germany surprised the nation.

Iwelumo, set to win his second Scotland cap against Argentina, has seen enough of his team-mates to be convinced they can not only grace the Premier League, but make the full England squad.

Richard Stearman, Michael Kightly and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake are in the under-21 squad to face Czech Republic in a friendly at Sheffield United. Iwelumo believes all three could go on to win full honours.

He said: “There are a lot of players in this squad who can definitely make the step up, do well and hold their own and probably kick on again.

“Sylvan’s a fantastic player because he’s got so much – strength, power, pace, and he’s two-footed, ‘Stears’ is a ridiculously good player and then there’s Michael Kightly.

“I don’t have any doubts that they could kick on again and get full international honours.”
