Kidderminster manager Mark Yates believes that tomorrow’s match at Rushden (3pm) kicks off a triple-header that will give the sternest examination of their promotion credentials yet.

Harriers head to Nene Park looking to be firmly back on track after three straight wins and two straight clean sheets, which has put them into the second round of the FA Cup and their league challenge back on track.

Only goal difference separates them from the play-off places and, against a 10th-placed Rushden side they already beaten this term, an opportunity presents itself to get back among the pack.

It doesn’t get any easier in the next two games either, with Wrexham the visitors on Saturday week before a trip to Oxford the following Tuesday.

Yates said: “We have three massive games that will go a long way towards deciding what will happen this season. First we go to Rushden, who have not done as well as they would like but have done alright lately.

“Nene Park is always a tough place to go and any of Garry Hill’s teams will be up for it. It will be an extremely tough game. We beat them earlier in the season but that counts for nothing on Saturday.

“We can then look at our next game, Wrexham at home, before we go to Oxford, another two massive games for us.”

Harriers will evaluate the fitness of goalkeeper Adam Bartlett and midfielder Russell Penn, who were on England C duty this week, ahead of the match.

Defender Luke Jones is available again after a three-match suspension.
