derby.jpegVilla striker Gabriel Agbonlahor could gain his first full England cap in Germany next week.

Agbonlahor is one of a group of youngsters Fabio Capello is expected to play in the friendly.

Others tipped to be included in the squad are Agbonlahor’s team-mate Ashley Young and Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart, who used to play for Shrewsbury Town.

Agbonlahor and Hart were the most notable absentees from Stuart Pearce’s Under-21 squad, who face the Czech Republic on Tuesday.

The Villa striker is a player Capello has been watching keenly for some time and it would be a great night for the youngster if he were to play in Berlin next Wednesday. He has been on the bench before, but that’s all.

It is England’s first trip to Germany to face their old rivals, since Sven-Goran Eriksson’s side recorded the famous 5-1 triumph in Munich seven years ago.

It also represents the Three Lions’ first visit to Berlin to meet a unified Germany since 1938, when a side containing Stanley Matthews became the first – and still the only – team to score six times against them.
