Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Rhodes on a par with Clarkson
Tuesday 11th November 2008, 8:46AM GMT.
Once again Peter Rhodes sinks to a lower level of journalism. While criticising Jeremy Clarkson (who’s he anyway, petrol head?), Rhodes enters a lower level with his ridiculous criticism of a fine group of workers, not whingers, the British lorry driver.
They are the safest in the world and get on with the job in the most arduous conditions, with schedules to keep and excessive fines for working five minutes over the working day.
I have lived and worked as a lorry driver (not a trucker) for more than 45 years. Yes, drivers these days do have coffee machines and televisions, but they do not use them while driving.
As for a brick on the accelerator, this is a myth, like Rhodes.
If he can see drivers doing these things, where is his concentration while driving? He must have glasses like binoculars.
As for his parting shot, “The lorry driver was unhurt” – sick, Mr Rhodes. Comments like this put you on a par with Clarkson.
But what can we expect from someone who has only ever driven a fountain pen.

They have speed limiters on them no 56 mph so Mr rhodes should beef up on his info a little bit.

Chris, that explains being overtaken several times by lorries while doing 70mph in the left lane on the M6.
No problem with lorry drivers – they manage to drive far safer than many car drivers.

Yep i agree, but they are breaking the law all lorries upto class 1 have to have 56 mph limiters on them. The only time they should or could go faster is when there on a down hill run with gravity behind them aiding their speed. I’m sure there are still some unscrupulous transport firms out there still.
