””rain rain go away, come back to flood us another day””

We never seemed to have all these problems when the water company’s we in public hands Is profit taking preference over public safety?

I can’t believe so many stupid people drive through such deep water!
Then again, maybe if the Council cleaned out the drains every now and again, it wouldn’t happen!
I think the biggest issue yesterday was the fact the drains were blocked with leaves, it certainly was around Amblecote.

Of course we expect “the council” to unblock every single drain, every single day, every time a leaf falls off the trees.
More tarmac, more block paving, more land that’s built on means there’s more surface water to dispose of…

Blocked drains and the sheer speed and volume of the rainfall nowadays are the cause.

How idiotic of these stupid people to drive through high water levels, are these grown ups for real? The fire service should have left them on top of there cars, wasting peoples time and money.

If the council had checked the street lighting was working correctly and erected more lighting by the Station Rd Railway bridge, I WOULD HAVE SEEN WHERE I WAS GOING!! and NOT drove into such “DEEP WATER”!!! As one reader commented on!!!

i live in rushall close and i rang the fire service on saturday night and they said they could not help us.now i have just read that they sent fire crews to worcester street to pump water from there why didnt they help us?is it done on first come first serve basis or because in that area is of a higher band of council tax and it is closer to the fire station.i can only praise dudley council and the local police force who have helped us through this dilemma.now all we need are answers to all the questions which will be asked in the coming weeks and our environment made safer for all involved!!!!
