Ten-man Walsall slumped to another disappointing Cup exit in front of just 2,318 at the Banks’ Stadium.
Substitute Ishmel Demontagnac was dismissed after an off the ball incident just eight minutes after appearing as a 70th minute substitute.
Michael Ricketts gave the hosts a first half lead, with Gary Hooper equalising for the Iron in the first half before firing in a second after 58 minutes.
The striker could have had a hat-trick but was denied by Clayton Ince late on, before sub Kevan Hurst sealed the win with a spectacular late effort.
Walsall had intially overcome a sluggish start, with Ricketts volleying in the opener after 25 minute against the run of play.

Please Mr Bonser do the right thing end the Mullen Tenure. Tactically inept , Players played in the wrong position etc. Crowd today 2,618 this speaks volumes.Mullen is a nice guy but is clearly out of his depth and if we do not act soon I can only see relegation staring us in the face.We are in a downward spiral on and off the field.

I saw the incident between Demontagnac and Scunthorpe player and thought it was not a red card incident, yellow at most, both players were trying to get ahead of each other, nothing worthy of sending off.
Hughes => the most ineffective player in a Walsall shirt, totally useless.
Ricketts => the laziest player I have ever seen. How on earth he got man of the match is beyond me (should have been Ince). Ricketts needs to go, the team can’t play with him in it.
Mattis => quiet and didnt get forward to support strikers enough.
Jimmy Mullen => tactically inept, quieter than a doormouse, couldn’t change a lightbulb, as motivating as a cold wet winters morning. The man has to go.
