Driver hurt in collision

ambulance1.jpgA 27-year-old man suffered serious leg injuries during a crash in Stafford in the early hours of the morning.

The Gnosall man was driving a blue V-reg Ford Focus from Stafford to Haughton when the accident took place on the A518 at Billington Bank.

He was rushed to Stafford Hospital for treatment to severe injuries to his legs.

The crash took place between 3am and 4am yesterday morning and police say no other vehicles were involved.

Any witnesses are being urged to contact Stafford-based PC Heritage via 0300 1234455, quoting incident number 103 of November 7.

Meanwhile, a car spun out of control and hit the central reservation during a crash on the M6 near Stafford today.

The crash took place on the northbound carriageway close to Stafford services at around 10.50am.

It caused delays as the car involved was removed but as the Express & Star went to press, no-one was thought to have been injured.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said one paramedic had been sent out in a response car but no-one had been taken to hospital.
