Obama queues tell their own story
Wednesday 5th November 2008, 10:50AM GMT.
There is such a flood of comment about Barack Obama today that I won’t say all that much, writes blogger Charlie Cashdan.
But what I will say is that there’s something about him which suggests to me that, unlike most politicians who set out to change the world then become distracted by the acquisition of personal power and wealth, Obama really does still seem to want to change the world. Not for himself or for his party, but for everyone.
Today, he’s officially begun that journey and I hope he isn’t corrupted by what he can gain for himself, but stays focused on what he can achieve for others.
If only we had a candidate for prime minister who could inspire the huge and diverse turn out on polling day that Obama did! Would you queue for four hours to vote for any of our possibilities? Thought not…
