Wolves too strong for the Blues

A strong Wolves side beat a youthful Birmingham outfit 4-1 at Blues’ Wast Hills training ground.

Wayne Hennessey and Matt Murray played one half each in goal. Goals from Dave Edwards, Sam Vokes, Denes Rosa and Mark Davies clinched victory for Steve Weaver’s side.

Vokes hobbled off injured on 31 minutes after a tackle by Jordan Anderson. Andy Keogh was particularly impressive for Wolves, helping to set up three goals.

Edwards broke the deadlock with a hard, low shot on 10 minutes after Keogh and Davies combined. Twelve minutes later it was 2-0, when Vokes scrambled home after heavy pressure on the Blues goal.

Two further goals in 10 minutes made things safe for Wolves, after Keogh unselfishly squared to Denes Rosa to finish from close range on 47, before Keogh and Hemmings combined to set up Davies to shoot home on 57.

Mitchell McPike grabbed a consolation for Blues on the hour with a free kick after a foul by Matt Hill on Robert Gradwell, which earned the former Preston full-back a booking on the comeback.

The extent of Vokes’ injury is not yet known.
Wolves: Hennessey (Murray HT); Melbourne, Friend, Hill, Williams (Batth 78), Potter, C Edwards (Rosa HT), D Edwards (Dunleavy 70), Keogh (Hughes 66), Vokes (Hemmings 31), Davies.

So good to see Rosa getting a run-out and scoring. This mans talents have been wasted at Wolves.

Re: Denes Rosa – He wants to go, the club want him to go, and he’s been circulated to all clubs that he’s available, yet he’s still here. Something isn’t right. Come on Wolves, we should be told.

I just dont get this Denis Rosa saga. Scores for fun last season in the reverses but didnt get a look in the 1st team even when we were struggling for goals, and this season, still at wolves and scoring in friendlies, why doesnt a team give him a chance as its clear there is no future for him at wolves.

Good to see Mark Davies scoring too….

If Rosa was that good or that much of a professional he would have left along time ago to play first team football.

Why do people still cling to the chance of complaining about Mick, Rosa obviously can’t get the same money as he is on now thats why he is still around.

    9. Its the reserves, most players can score in the reserves playing week in week out.
