Saturday 1st November 2008, 2:05PM GMT.
Live updates from the Banks’s Stadium as Walsall tackle Northampton in League One.
16.56: Final whistle. Another three points for Walsall. Saddlers fans – can they build on this? Get the comments in.
16.50: A header from deep inside the penalty area by Scott McGleish goes harmlessly over the crossbar. Deeney makes way for Alex Nicholls as Saddlers run down the clock.
16.46: Minute to go of normal time for the Saddlers.
16.38: Saddlers are not safe yet. Giles Coke hits the post but the Cobblers cannot capitalise. Ince appeared to get a fingertip to it.
16.28: Northampton score. It’s 3-1. Sub Scott McGleish rattles the crossbar and Leon Constantine finds the net to pull one back for the visitors.
16.20: Three nil to Walsall. Deeney and keeper Frank Fielding go for a high ball. Deeney gets the most on it to put it into the back of the net. A brave header which should guarantee all three points. The striker needs treatment for his troubles. Meanwhile, Mattis is off and replaced by Bradley.
16.10: Corner taken by Chris Palmer from the right. A close range header by Jabo Ibehre goes wide of the post. Saddlers look as if they have more goals in them.
16.05: Second half kicks off.
15.52: Half time. Leon Constantine takes a shot for the visitors in the last meaningful effort of the half.
15.40: There are few chances as the sides battle in midfield. Dwayne Mattis takes a shot. Giles Coke gets a block in.
15.25: Walsall threw away a 2-0 lead to end up 3-2 down at home to Hartlepool so Saddlers fans will not be relaxing just yet.
15.22: Two nil. A corner ends up in the back of the net with Saddlers defender Anthony Gerrard believed to have got the last touch. Dawyne Mattis appears to be claiming it. There was just one place and one point between the sides before kick off today, with Saddlers on top in 13th.
15.22: Northampton make the changes. Liam Dolman on for Abdul Osman.
15.17: Correction. Something to report. Walsall score. Chris Palmer fires into the top corner from 20 yards. Keeper had no chance.
