Hot-shot aims for long deal

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake wants to stay at Wolves for life after continuing his goal spree last night.
The 22-year-old hotshot bagged a brace in the 2-1 win over Swansea to take his tally to four in four games and nine for the season.
An ever-present since his £1.5m signing from Plymouth in January, the Championship Golden Boot winner has scored an impressive 21 goals in 34 League games for Wolves.
Now the former Manchester United reserve, whose four-year contract takes him to 2012, wants to stay at Molineux long term despite being watched by Everton over the last few months.
“I really feel appreciated here by the club and the fans,” said Ebanks-Blake. “It’s a really big club and a really good set-up – everything about the place is made to go on to bigger and better things.
“I feel privileged to be a part of that and I want to be a part of that for as long as possible – as long as the manager will have me.”
Ebanks-Blake says he feels at home at Wolves and is extremely happy.
“I bedded in very quickly,” he said. “As soon as I came here, I got out of the hotel as soon as I could and got an apartment early on.
“I’ve felt at home from the minute I stepped out here. And when you’re happy as a player and you’re settled off the pitch as well, you do your talking on the pitch.
“I’ve had some ups and downs along the way on and off the pitch, but I’ve always stayed focused and the manager has always showed faith in me.”
Jason Shackell went off with a minor injury knock last night but is expected to be fit for Saturday’s teatime trip to Cardiff.
Winger Michael Kightly has been voted PFA Fans’ Championship Player of the Month for October – retaining the award he won in September, despite missing a game through his injury.
