Thieves snatch horses’ trailer

Monday 27th October 2008, 11:28AM GMT.

Thieves have stolen a flat-bed trailer from a Midland riding organisation.

The Ivor Williams 14-foot long flat-bed trailer with sides disappeared from Springfield Stables at Prestwood, near Stourbridge, sometime between last Wednesday and Friday.

It belonged to the Midland Association of Riding Clubs, which used it for transporting jumps and equipment around shows in the region.

Association secretary Pat Shear, who lives at Wolverhampton, revealed that a reward of £200 has now been offered for information leading to recovery of the trailer and conviction of the people responsible.

She said: “This is the second trailer stolen in the past two years and it means that the small profit made at this year’s championships will now have to be used to replace it in the spring.

“Instead the money would have gone to replacing some of the older jumps and making other improvements. The trailer is quite distinctive so we would be grateful if people could keep their eyes open for it.

“There is a chain at the front on the spare wheel frame and no wheel. It carried the registration number F866 DHL painted in green on the rear.”

Anyone who has seen the trailer call 01902 677593.
