Decision due over junction

Saturday 25th October 2008, 9:43AM BST.

The fate of a £10.3 million traffic-busting scheme at a Black Country junction will be decided next month.A public inquiry was held earlier this year into plans to replace the notorious Burnt Tree Island on the Sandwell and Dudley border with a series of traffic lights.

Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Hazel Blears, will make a final decision based on the recommendations of Inspector Jack Moffett who held the inquiry in July.
