Fashion and beauty evening helps children
Thursday 16th October 2008, 11:33AM BST.
Ladies from the Black Country stepped out in style when the catwalk took centre stage for a fashion and beauty fundraiser.
Up to 160 ladies enjoyed an evening of elegance when the Inner Wheel Club of Dudley hosted the event last night.
Models were dressed up to the nines – and so were the hosts – as they showed off a host of this season’s classic and chic fashions.
And guests were also treated to make-overs and beauty tips as part of the pampering evening at Dudley’s Village Hotel.
Maureen Glazzard, president of the Inner Wheel Club, said she was delighted with the turn-out and the evening raised £1,725 for the group’s chosen charity, the NSPCC.
“This was our major fundraiser of the year and it really was a great success,” said Mrs Glazzard.
“We are very pleased to have raised so much for the NSPCC,” she added. Staff from Beatties department store in Dudley turned models for the night. From casual daywear to elegant eveningwear, the ladies modelled the latest styles from CC, formerly Country Casuals, Alex & Co, House of Fraser’s Linea label and Dash.
Maddie Hawe, who is manager of the CC concession at the Dudley store, said she was delighted to be involved in the event.
