The Eagles have won their last three matches with the Baggies’ Scotland international in the team.

The 24-year-old is due back at The Hawthorns after Palace’s home match with Nottingham Forest on October 28.

Palace assistant manager Mick Jones has stated boss Neil Warnock has already been in touch with Albion about a longer stay.

Jones said: “We sincerely hope we can keep Craig beyond the month and I know Neil has spoken to Tony Mowbray about it already. We might get news on that sooner rather than later.

“Craig has had a big effect on the training ground and in the dressing room.”

Beattie joined Albion in the summer of 2006 from Celtic but has struggled to break through.

The Scottish international signed a three-year deal when he moved but could not displace Kevin Phillips, Ishmael Miller and Roman Bednar last year in the Baggies line-up.
