Moore offered short-term deal

9475462.jpgKidderminster manager Mark Yates will offer trial striker Stefan Moore a short-term deal today after losing first-choice Justin Richards to injury.

The former Aston Villa man has been training with the Harriers for the past fortnight, with the 25-year-old without a club since his release from Walsall in the summer.

Now a void has opened in attack, with eight-goal forward Richards limping out of Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Northwich with a hamstring injury.

The extent of his absence will be known after a scan later today, but in any event he will not be fit to face Ebbsfleet on Saturday.

Yates was looking for another striker anyway and sees the sense in offering Moore a deal, especially with the Harriers short on numbers.

The manager said: “I am going to have a chat with him today and sign him up on a short-term deal if possible. I haven’t spoke to him yet or my chairman, but that is my hope. With Justin’s injury, it has heightened the need.

“We wanted to bring a striker into the club anyway. Stefan has fitted in well and looked good in training. He is a good player, we know that, so we are doing what we can to bring him in.”

“Stefan wants to come and play for us and be a part of things. I am sure we will be able to sort something out.”
