Hennessey major doubt for Wales

Thursday 9th October 2008, 9:02AM BST.

reading24.jpegWolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey has been isolated from the rest of the Wales squad with a stomach bug and is a major doubt for the World Cup qualifier against Liechtenstein on Saturday.

Hennessey was able to take part in some light training yesterday but, with the game just over 48 hours away, he is unlikely to be risked by national team coach John Toshack.

Hull’s Boaz Myhill stands by for his third cap, if the 21-year-old does not make it. Wolves striker Sam Vokes remains with the squad, as does ex-Molineux star Carl Robinson, now in the MLS with Toronto FC.

Another former Wolves player, Coventry striker Freddy Eastwood, has already withdrawn through injury.
