wd3092993sax-2-pm-23.jpgDynamic duo Sam Pagett and Laura Broad have gained the Most Popular Busker Award during this year’s Kidderminster Arts Festival.

The couple, who perform under the name Lady and the Sax, appeared on the streets as buskers several times during the festival.

They have been judged the best street performers by judges of the competition.

Shoppers and visitors to the town were asked to put forward the performers they enjoyed seeing the most. Saxophonist Sam, aged 16, from Stourport, and 22-year-old Laura, from Kidderminster, gained the biggest support.

They blew their audiences away and were due to receive Most Popular Buskers Award from Kidderminster Town Mayor Councillor Marcus Hard at the Mayor’s Chamber at Kidderminster Town Hall. Councillor Hart said: “Kidderminster Arts Festival ran its approved buskers scheme for the second time this year.

“The number and quality of the acts has increased significantly and Wyre Forest District Council is delighted to present the award to Sam and Laura.”
