Driver hurt in collision

Wednesday 8th October 2008, 11:25AM BST.

A driver was taken to hospital after his leg was pierced by a fence panel during a car crash near Kidderminster.

Ambulance crews were called to Droitwich Road in Ombersley shortly after 1pm yesterday.

The driver, a man in his 30s, suffered a fractured leg and facial injuries.

Ambulance service spokeswoman, Suzie Fothergill, said: “On arrival at the scene, crews found a single vehicle that left the road. The car was found in a field and had been in collision with a fence.

“It is reported that part of the fencing had penetrated through the driver’s door, passing through the cab, and out of the passenger door.”
