Walsall’s Mark Bradley could miss Wales’ under-21 clash with England because of an ankle injury.

The 20-year-old midfielder picked up the knock in the 3-0 Birmingham Senior Cup victory at Oldbury two weeks ago and is rated doubtful for the European Championship play-off double header on October 10 and October 14.

Bradley was in line to face Villa stars James Milner, Craig Gardner and Gabriel Agbonlahor, along with Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, but now looks set to miss out.

Saddlers boss Jimmy Mullen said: “He is still suffering with the ankle and it will be touch and go whether he gets involves with Wales.

“We will have to wait and see because he is a good healer and we would like to get him fit. The last international he played in was fantastic.

“Hopefully we can get him fit for Brian Flynn (manager), because he enjoys playing for his country.”

A win would qualify Wales for the under-21 Euro 2009 Championships in Sweden. Bradley believes his games with the national side are improving his chances of breaking back in to the Saddlers first team.

He has only made two substitute appearances for Mullen’s side this season and has not featured since the 2-0 home defeat to Leyton Orient last month.

He said: “I enjoy representing my country. it is a nice break from club football and helps my overall game to develop.

“I want to use it to be able to push on and get back to the first team here.”
