Wolves blog: The end is nigh
Friday 3rd October 2008, 9:55AM BST.
Wolves blogger Nathan Lloyd laments the boo boys, feels for his brother’s choice of game to attend and hails the arrival of Carlos Edwards ahead of the trip to Swansea.
Listening to some of the fan’s phone-in on the radio and reading some of the comments on various Wolves forums after the Reading defeat, you would think that some so called supporters would like the above statement to become a reality.
My brother Ryan, who lives down South, came to his first Wolves game in over three years, caught up in the excitement and expectation that most of us are currently feeling. Probably not the wisest £30 he will ever spend.
Most of us knew that however well we had started this season, Reading were going to be the team that would give us our first real test.
Speaking to Charles of ALOB fame before the game, we both agreed that we would take a 0-0 before kick off, although I think my brother would have felt slightly short changed!
After the impeccable minute’s silence for the passing of Wolves legend Jimmy Murray, it became quickly apparent that Reading were simply on a different level.
As I wrote about in my last blog, they have kept the core of the players from the time they walked this division in 2005-2006. Lets not forget that a lot of the team who played on Tuesday night also have two Premier League campaigns under their belts.
Reading looked a strong, pacy and well-drilled side. In Steve Coppell, they have an extremely tactically astute manager who has built a superb side over five years and has managed to keep the majority of the side together that were relegated from the Premie League in the summer.
I think if we finish a place behind them this season we will still go up automatically.
Lets not go over the game into much detail. Bottom line is that Foley was superb, we didn’t penetrate the solid Reading defence on too many occasions and Hennessey made a rare mistake, which put us on the back foot from the start.
Have we seen a more dangerous corner taker than Stephen Hunt and how much has Ingimarsson improved since he left Wolves?
Our best chance of the night fell probably fell to Keogh, who seems to have picked up from Neill Collins on splitting the opinion of Wolves fans. Some fans speak about his lack of confidence, lack of aggression, lack of this, lack of that. You get the idea.
With Keogh in particular, I think when the fans berate him or get on his back it destroys his game. On Tuesday night, when he was one on one with Hahnemann, you could see how nervous he was to pull the trigger for fear of missing the target, so he always looks for an easier option.
He isn’t an out and out striker but works his backside off for the team cause. Yes, he should get stuck in a bit more, but fans should remember just how many assists he has got this season and remember that last season he was our king of assists.
He is third choice striker and that’s probably about right, but given the current injuries, he could play an essential part in maintaining our phenomenal start to the season.
So it would be nice if some of the more fickle fans gave him a little bit more support and don’t groan when he misses the odd shot.
I noticed in the second half of the Bristol City game that Wolves boss Mick McCarthy had obviously had a word with Keogh. He seemed to play like he had a little bit more belief in his own abilities.
That was a long-winded way to tell the moaners to shut-up!
The injuries on Tuesday took complete precedent over the result for me. I’m glad Kites came off when he did, but let’s hope Mick doesn’t make the mistake of rushing him back again.
I’m absolutely gutted for Jarvis. Get well soon Matt, you were having a tremendous season and are a massive reason as to why we are sitting proudly on top of this league.
Hats off to Mick though. Bringing in Carlos Edwards from Sunderland (are we allowed players from anywhere else?) could prove to be an absolute masterstroke.
I was stunned at how quickly MM has turned this one around. Although he last lost one game, perhaps Mick will be allowed to keep his job at the club after all?
Great to see that Scotland coach George Burley has called up Iwelumo to his squad. Even though I thought Iwelumo was a great acquisition at the start of the season, I never thought he would make the fantastic impact he has so far.
As Twoddle would have called him, he really is that missing piece of the jigsaw and he isn’t old, short or an over-priced Pole!
I was proud to be asked to record a video for the Expressandstar.com ‘Fans Forum’ last week.
Just before the Bristol game, Stu who sits near me in the Steve Bull stand said that he watched the video. I thought he might comment on my amazing footballing insight or my fantastic composure in front of the camera.
Instead he said that I looked really bald. Thanks mate.
My Mum has also been busy telling people that her son was on a video on the internet. I told her she might want to rephrase that!
We really put Bristol City to the sword, and that’s the sort of performance we should take into this weekend.
So it’s time to dig out the passports, as we cross the Welsh border for a game against the Swans at the impressive Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
I think a lot of us feared the worse for the fate of a wingless Wolves side going into this game. But Mick has pulled a rabbit out of the hat with Edwards and suddenly the optimism has returned.
Swansea have had a steady start to the season, drawing three and winning the other of their four games at home so far this campaign. The good news for Wolves is that their main danger man, midfielder Ferrie Bodde, is suspended for Saturday’s clash.
Even without Kites, Jarvis and Iwelumo we should have the artillery to go there and pick up all three points
So let’s get back on track with a win on Saturday. Just remember that we only have to play Reading once more this season!
Up the Wolves and have a great weekend.

Good blog, Nathan – glad to see you’ve re-gained some perspective this season. Key point for me is the question you raise about Ingimarsson and how much he has improved since he left Wolves. I am utterly convinced that a huge proportion of blame for past failures lies with a section of our fans who, wanting instant success, never let a manager build anything or let a young player develop. Wolves fans always seem to want the quick-fix solution. It hasn’t worked in the past. The club has finally seen the light and is heading in the right direction. Coppell and Ingimarsson provide us with a benchmark. So to those who are just waiting for MM to fail or spend all their time getting on Keogh’s back – please change or stay away.
Having read this report I totaly agree with his comment about FOLEY he has been fantastic, however on the KEOGH issue he quite clearly as you say not a centre forward so why does MM persist in playing him. He might run all over the place but is return is limited, he gets caught in possesion too often, cannot shoot or head the ball so he is a passenger.
Therefore why does he not give EDWARDS a chance to play off EB in the same role, he is a better prospect and has the attributes that KEOGH does not posses. Remember last season we didn’t score enough goals because MM persisted with KEOGH up front with EB so please change it before we go into decline.

Cheers Timmiswolf
Some fans are always looking for a scapegoat and Keogh is currently the one. Some of the anxious home crowd need to realise that they are denting Keogh’s confidence and need to give the lad a break.
I have to disagree strongly I feel we matched them on the night they had very few chances we had most of the possesion in the first half and were unlucky not to be even at half time.We miss Illwelumo up front we didnt have anybody up front who could win headers and get the flick ons for SEB,saying that Wayne had an untypical bad night being responsible for all three in my opinion. They were flattered by 3 nil,we cant expect to win every game but Reading took their chances on the night and that was the difference.

No.2 Top Bloke!
Some ‘fans’ have got lost and should be up north supporting Newcastle!
I think with Carlos coming in it will bring the width needed after losing Jarvis and Kightly. Also he bring experience of getting promotion.
I think matbe another loan signing, Scott Sinclair, Wayne Routledge, Nabil El Zaher or Seol.
Keep the faith lads were not worldbeaters we will lose games on the ways but its how we react to them.

Sorry Nathan – With regards to Keogh – Its a bit like saying the young blond lad in the band last night stood at the microphone whilst the rest of the group played music – but try as he may the blond lead singer couldnt sing a word – instead he just stood there trying out various ways of “looking good” and eyeing up the ladies in the crowd
FFS – If Keogh is BIG enough to pick up his sizeable wage packet – He is definately BIG enough to be centre stage at a football game – It goes with the territory – either that or he should go get a job where he isnt playing a professional sport especially football!!!
NB* There are LOTS of far better talented real strikers who would bust a gut to play at this level infront of a large crowd – If Keogh cant stand the heat – get out the kitchen! Petty excuses!!! What happened to Keogh’s vow to score 20 goals this season???
“quickly apparent that Reading were simply on a different level.”
Second half maybe but in the first half we had a mistake at the back, and missed one up front so it could have been different. The second half was more convincing over us.
Id also say that yes people moan about Keogh when he misses the odd shot but the problem for me is he only ever has the odd shot. Sometimes I wish he would shoot more. I dont moan at the games though, its unproductive and only creates negative energy.
Excellent blog Nathan, we could discuss at least a dozen topics. I will choose you compliment to Mick about the speed of the loan signing this week. He clearly does know what he is doing. If I can add one point and I never thought I would say this but I now think Mr Moxey seems to be doing an excellent job. I always though that bringing Bon Jovi to the Mol was his finest hour but I now feel good to have him here.

Decent blog Nathan,
Now I aint a whinger, far from it, but Hennessy had an absolute mare Tuesday, it wasn’t one mistake, I have just watched the ‘highlights’ on WOW & he was flapping at everything, he was at fault for the first 2 goals & to 2 we cleared off the line, not having too much of a pop at the lad, but I think it also puts the result into perspective, Reading wern’t the super team everyone is saying, our keeper had an off night & they defended their half v well.
We will bounce back & succeed this season.
Keep the faith.
Wolves forever.

Keogh just needs to continue his unselfish assists and make an impact as a sub . He is afterall a squad player. He will never score goals in bulk but is a dam good impact player and cover for several positions.

Bang on Timmiswolf. Those fans that boo and moan are quiote welcome to join Stafford Rangers down the road cos we don’t need them. They have been one of the main reasons for runs of poor performances. Just imagine when you do to work and all your customers/colleagues are constantly running you down?! It does nothing for confidence so shut it. Well done MM and lads. Keep up the good work.
Everyone keeps on about how good Reading were. I just think the lads looked really tired after saturday. Remember our work rate and it is a bl***y big pitch now!

Nice blog, but don’t agree with Reading being the first team to give us our first real test…
Charlton, Preston, Ipswich away were pretty real tests to me, as were Palace and Bristol City at home.
We are doing brilliantly, most fans I know acknwoledge this, and have their feet grounded to the floor.
I’d take a point tomorrow!
As for Keogh, most fans I know are longing for him to do well, desperate to sing his name, but he simply gives them no reason to.
He certainly aint the player we saw in the second half of Mick’s 1st season, and we all want him to be!
Up the Wolves.

Great blog bro. It is good news about Carlos Edwards.
Who do I speak to about getting my money back?

Nice to see the boo boys come out of the wardrobe once again…why can’t they leave MM and the boys to get on with the job in hand ? Why are we all managers? MM is doing a great job. We have to learn that Wolves do not have a divine right to be the greatest team in the land! They have to earn that title. Let them work in peace! Great start of the season…come on you wolves…
Report abuse
Sorry Nathan, but you are wrong about that Keogh has a good assists record this season. According to the FL stats Keogh has no assists this season in the league and one in the cup.
However, last season he had 8 in the league and 2 in the cups and was our best “assistant”.
I am not with the boo-boys at all, but Keogh has not been as good this season (yet) as last. When Iwelumo is back the first choice of the two at the top must be Iwelumo and Ebanks-Blake for sure.
God this guy spouts more rubbish than the manager homself. There’s nothing wrong with groaning when a player misses a sitter, or indeed, takes the easy option, instead of having a shot for god sake.
I dont agree at all about the Reading comments either. We got turned over, but absolutely dominated for 25 mins of the first half, until we lost Kights. I said it before, and will say it again, if Iwelumo had played, we would have won, I’m sure.
True Reading were a good team, but they packed the midfield, defended in numbers, and hit us on the break… add to that the fact that Wolves may have been over confident, then it was a recipe for disaster. However, Reading dont play like that week in , week out. You only have to look at their results todate, to see that.
Our problem now is losing our wingers, but time will tell how the season pans out.

Great Blog Nathan, preety much spot on!
Deffenetly agree with the Keogh remarks! I’ve said b4 that Keogh aint the greatest player we’ve got but his contribution to the team is second to none!! Just look at saturday, he was all ova the pitch causing all sorts of problems!! no one complaied then about his lack of goals then!!!
I do agree with comment number 3 – Macthewolf however, who says trying Edwards in the “off the striker” role wudn’t work!! I really think that would play to all the lads strenghts!!
good luck to the team sat! lets not let tue night result get us down!! No team wins them all!!
up the wolves!!!!

People are having a go about so called moaners, but i cant see any at all on this thread. I didnt hear much the other night either even when 3 down?? I think some people expect and imagine moaners but i havnt detected any doom and gloom as such since the Reading game. Up the Wolves

At the risk of being seen as a sycophant I agree with almost all of the comments so far
(exceptions being Brigitony of course and one or two others)
Despite the scoreline we didn’t get our bottoms spanked on Tuesday and If we were to play Reading again with a full strength team I’d still fancy our chances.
I think anybody that’s on the pitch deserves our support as long as they’re not hiding – An accusation that could never be aimed at Keogh.
I agree he’s not our first choice and with a fully fit squad it’s now unlikely he’d get a game but I’ve never seen him “do a Bothroyd” and jog around the pitch for 90 minutes.
I also agree Hennessey had a mare. He was under a lot of pressure and responded poorly.
I still think at this moment in time Mat Murray is a much better keeper and when fit I think it’s going to be hard not to pick him.
I’m also glad that we have such strength in depth we’re able to have the debate about who should be first choice.
A great new signing and 2 points clear.
I’m still happily clapping

Im 38 and went to my first Wolves match at the age of 4. So I ahve some 34 years experience of Wolves and our fans
I get sick to death of hearing people say Wolves fans are whingers, we are not, we simply dont have blind faith in the players or management, I would say that makes us intelligent human beings rather than typical football fans who would follow their heroes off the end of a cliff regardless of how good they be.
A lot of the cynicism of the modern Wolves fans comes from many years of hearing the insane, delusional comments of the not missed sir Jack
After years of being told his aim was the top half of the premiership and European football it was a bitter pill to swallow to be overtaken by Albion, Birmingham, Wigan, Bolton and Reading !
Now we applaud when its warranted and we jeer rubbish.
Having paid a small fortune to attend matches I think we are entitled to our opinions. Those who believe we should blindly follow anything that wears Wolves colours should perhaps go and join a cult or some religous order as your blind faith would stand you in excellent stead there !

Tuesday ranked as surreal as the Saints match we lost 6 nil. The only 2 games I`ve left early to get back to Chesterfield.
Reading, and to a lesser extent Bristol City were channelling everything at the left side of our defence, where Ward & Collins are seen as weaklinks by opposition managers. Inswinging corners to the near post should be dealt with by any competent left back, and Collins conceeded a totally unecessary corner for the second. Yes we have had shocking injuries, but if you keep playing players out of position, you will get caught out by the better teams. I have a friend who owns an Exeter City shirt with FRIEND on the back, which he has tried to sell me. Says he is a great prospect, very quick, athletic and good on the ball. Playing favourites and some players out of position cost us dear last year, I trust in Mick this won`t happen again.

Keogh doesn’t deserve to wear the Gold and Black shirt. End of. Why so many fans rate him is beyond me. Your forgetting he played his football for most of his career at SCUNTHORPE. So why all of a sudden is he a world beater? He will never be a top striker. Did anybody else see that 1 on 1 miss apart from me? (against Reading) how about putting your foot through the ball next time Keogh?

Sorry Bill (25) A poor argument put most eloquently.
Wolves fans do moan more than average I still think it’s a trait of Midlanders generally (I can say that because I came from Wolverhampton)
I agree we all pay our money so have a right to be heard but honestly, read some of the drivel on here when we’re still 2 points clear and what appear to be generally popular decisions being made and tell me we don’t have more than our fair share of ignorant whingers?
OK. Going to take cover!

@2 Couldn’t agree more, the only constant over the last few decades has been the fans. We have had a new stadium, owner, teams, managers etc but the fans have always been the same. However a high percentage of these so called Wolves fans struggle in the brains department so convincing them to change their attitude is superfluous.

Perhaps when I’m trying to be ironic it’s being mistaken for being egotistical or that I am a megalomaniac.
I may well be my “mom’s special soldier” but I’m certainly don’t agree with you that I think my thoughts are tops, what ever that implies.
I just chuck my opinion out there and people can agree or disagree. I just think when a player like Keogh, who I believe can be very useful as a squad player is getting some abuse from the stands, then we should give him our support.
It’s the opposite to “keeping your mouth shut” as you put it. Support the team. We have a bit of injury problem and players like Keogh could be crucial.
Now where’s my mummy, I need this piece of bread cut into soldiers so I can dunk it in my eggy weggy.

(25) I am the same age been going the same amount of years and lived in Wolverhampton all my life. I totally disagree. Wolves fans are whingers (not all). Following the Wolves is a cult and as far as religion is concerned isn’t the old Gold & Black palace the Holy Grail?
I would not swap places with any other team in the championship.

I think it’s about time the ‘boo boy nuggets’ went to support tescos cos they get up my nose. I can imagine them waiting and waiting for the Reading debacle to have an excuse to vent their wretchedness. It must be so frustrating for them as the team crushed all before them. They must have felt really miserable. Guess their happy now…..What a credit to the club they are. What an asset…
The lads are great but now is a real challenge. what other club is facing the sort problems Mick has. But one thing is sure….they’ll fight for it. they won’t go belly up and they’ll show guts and determination. What planet are you on? Did you see how effective Keogh was at Preston?
The rants of old people who are completely out of touch. Why is your opinion more important than others? Sad.
Why do we need to pick a victim? Keogh might not be the strongest player in the team but my god he is important.

i agree keogh can be a god player on his day but what i dont understand is when he is playing bad he is not subbed.
and speaking of subs mcarthy has no idea , he waits till 10 mins before the end to try and change the game its just not fair for the subs.
last season i didnt mind keogh because of his extremely high workrate. this year he doesnt have it so he is pointless .
he has no presence and no balls to go for goal.
i mean he has a quality finish on him just look at his goals they are all quality its just he never goes for goal enuf.

You got a decent side down the Wolves, It’s a similar mould to ours at Villa. MM won’ go out and buy so called “big name players”, but will fill a position with a player that will fit his team.
You are going places, and you should be excited about the future.

I thought last Tuesdays game was as surreal as the six nil v Saints. We were ok, but had no run of the ball all night. Bristol City to a lesser degree tried to, but certainly Reading played down our left side as they believed it was our weakness. It proved to be the case.
Any competent left back should get inswinging corners to the near post, and if we had watched them why weren`t we better drilled. Collins should never have conceeded the corner which led to the second. I know we have awful injuries, but playing favourites and players out of position had to cost particularly against the very best sides in the division. We won`t play a side of the calibre of Reading every week, so lets keep the faith, thanks Mick for the first first 4 home games I`ve seen, Wolves are back.

Well folks it sure ain’t boring is it. I don’t think we need despair just yet. The team at the end of last season wasn’t the team we started with and I do think we have a better squad now. We were undone on Tues by Wayne having an off night, and in my opinion by a tactically stronger team. Also I don’t think I have seen such wicked corners as those Stephen Hunt aimed at us which we didn’t deal with.
We have made our pitch bigger and we have started by being fitter than other teams but do we run the risk of wearing ourselves down? The amount of running Jarvis did on Tues was phenomenal but it cost us same as Kightley
Lets have a good look at our new lads now. Friend and Carlos Edwards must add something and it is only one game till big Chris is back to terrorise the opposition. Roll on when Murray is fit. Lets batter Swansea and on we go.

Pedro, bit harsh m8. I understand were Nathan is coming from on this one.
Keogh has been completely over-shadowed since the arrival of Ebanks, Iwelumo and even Vokes, and is at risk of being in the firing line if he doesnt get his game or goals going.
But it would be wrong to compare him to the above named as he has a different role in the team, it would be particullary wrong to barrack him and knock his confidence.
Keogh is there to chase scraps for 90+mins, Eastwood couldnt be arsd, he is also there to work defenders to the ground and hopefully let the other players capitalize on the oppositions tiredness.
He has an important role in this squad in my opinion, even if it is currently less effective than our other high flying forwards.
Come on Keogh, a couple of goals silence the critics!
See you in Swansea.

Good blog Nathan,. 13 Norwich wolf- I completely agree with you. Keogh is an important player in our side, yes he hasn’t shone as much this season but his first touch and play-making ability makes him a valuable part of the squad and a great impact player. All the lad needs is a bit more confidence and that won’t happen with so-called “supporters” on his back.
I also agree that some “fans” at Wolves do have the tendency to moan far too much but I think even if we were performing well in the prem a lot of them would still find something to whinge on about. All we can do is make sure our voices of support are far louder than their moaning.
Let’s sing our way into the prem. “I was born under a Wanderers scarf.”

have to agree with the blog for 1st time. Have been to all home games this season when the crowd has been good(making positive noise) we have done well. the games where the crowd has not been so good against palace and reading we have not played aswell. In parts of the palace game there was zero atmosphere and against reading there was a lack of imagination amongst the fans everyone knows were top of the league sing somethin different 4 god sakes as fans we neet to up our game as much as keogh needs to improve his shooting. With regards to the comments from Keogh fans – No one ever doubted his “effort” at running all day etc BUT when it really counts as a striker what do we expect – Goals or something else???
Keogh hasnt been booed at games – But people make excuses for him missing chances and generally not doing what strikers are paid for – scoring goals – even the nonsense being spouted about his contribution to the game – the match stats say that he has scored 1 goal and contributed 0 assists so far this season
So against Preston he broke a sweat and ran his heart out – so did others who are not playing as a striker – What exactly is he supposed to do – score goals or run around like a headless chicken???
Do people expect goals from our strikers or “putting in a shift”? Finally; WHO promised the REAL fans 20 goals this season???
We have had a serious lack of goals for the past 2 seasons and Keogh has played as a striker more often than anyone else – with the exception of SEB perhaps – Big Chris has shown us all what is really required a big target man – unafraid to stick his head in where it hurts – clinical finishing NOT step overs!
NB* Anyone think Keogh WILL score 20 goals this season???
Is that a NO then???
Hi baldy. I’m mommy’s special little soldier too!
Keogh is clearly there for his workrate & assists not his goalscoring, which is fine. He helps lead or support the attack, he wears the opposition down & forces them to play deeper, which shifts the play more in our favour. As someone said earlier…he certainly doesn’t hide.
But Keogh as a goalscorer is very much ‘last season’ along with Elliot, Ward, Bothroyd, Kyle & the incredible amazing never had a fair chance Freddie. They all got great chances but we were always anticipating the excuses why the ball didn’t go in. Strikers that have to think about what they are doing just aren’t good strikers. (Unless the are world class finishers like say Ian Wright or Dennis Bergkamp, Bully even, who had the ability to instantly choose the appropriate finish from their reportoire before anyone else could react).
SEB, Vokes & Iwelumo are all instinctive… they know how they are going to score before they get the ball & make sure they are set up before recieving it. Keogh tends to be given the ball then he looks to see where the goals are, then where the keeper is…then sheepishly glances at the crowd, takes a deep breath & finally thinks about taking a shot. err, & misses!
But when we already have 2 or 3 great finishers on the pitch its not essential that Keogh scores…its not like last season where for most of it Keogh was our only hope.
Simon :)

Nate mate , I read your blogs with interest and never have a pop, but I can’t agree with today’s.
Like most fans you disrespect the opposition and have an over inflated opinion of the capabilities of you own team. Martinez is building something special at Swansea. If we avoid defeat on Saturday it will be a massive achievement.
As to the Reading game, we were outclassed in every department. Our much vaunted wingers were shackled from the start and would probably been subbed if they had not been injured. When we did get crosses in no one was busting a gut to get on the end of them. They finished stronger and fitter than us.
There have been numerous comments from teams we have played recently stating we are not as good as our results suggest.
Having seen many (not all) of our games I have felt we have had someone up there smiling at us. That won’t last. We will see how good we are when the largess of luck is removed and we have to play without it.

Now you are being silly Nathan, and its no use using words like egotistical and megalomaniac,,there a bit above my head,,my point was you have your oppinion, and throw it in the ring,,you say we can either agree or disagree, but can we???? iff in the case of Andy Keogh we disagree and we say so we are bringing the team down..Reading the comments on here I would say we are evenly divided about Andy Keogh,,but I would also say I go to all the games and I havnt heard anyone berate him,or in fact boo any wolves player, you obviously have better ears than Pedro..as a final thought try a little marmite on your soldiers,,and how many fivers have you put on Keogh getting twenty goals…

For Chr**ts sake will you people just sit up and listen to yourselves ?!!!! The average age of this squad is around 23. How many mistakes did YOU make when YOU were the same age as Keogh (and I don’t care what you say about his wages – it’s a fact of life that some get paid more than others regardless of what they do or deserve – and that’s not to say I agree with the sometimes obscene wages that footballers get)? Did you expect to be hounded by people you worked for or worked with when things didn’t go quite right ? The lad is doing his best – give him credit for it. I also do not think he is performing as well as he ought but I do not slate him on these boards. If the manager (and no doubbt there will be some criticism of MM from this post) chooses to play him then we have to accept it. I’m not advocating that he plays 90 mins but look at the impact he had when he came on at Preston. This guy is doing all that he can so let’s just temper the criticism of him – and you can, one and all have a go at me over this but to quote a famous phrase ” is this face bovvered ?”
Rant over !!
The only other thing I have to say is “COME ON YOU WOLVES”. 3 points tomorrow will be tha perfect tonic !!

Bridgetony, you really are a pedantic fool(s)
The point I think everone on here except you understands is that he is the understudy. Not the first choice but well able to provide decent cover as and when.
As such he should be supported.
Get off his case.

We always do badly in midweek games. Even when we beat Crystal palace we were not exactly overly comfortable. Midweek games and games on TV have never been our strong point except perhaps the playoff final many centuries ago. We were very very unlucky in everywaypossible and Copell is a bloody good manager with a strong team that will get stronger.
Our injuries are a real burden but the lads will fight hard. We’;re lucky to support such a team.
PS keogh has been great recently – he is not a natural goal scorer but he creats the conditions for seb and Iwelumo to thrive. leave him be…

HI the match against reading was awful!! as soon as we went 1 goal down!! I dont know what the rest of you thought but it’s the first time i am voicing my opinion on the team performance. Hennesey did not command is area very poor i would have taken him off? keogh no positional sense all through the game? What gets me mad that e-banks blake holds the ball up well but keogh was miles away from him, e-banks blake needs someone to play off him, and come the second half when kightly went off i think mick should have made 3 substitutions, ikeme for hennesey edwards for kightly and vokes for keogh. we lost the battle in midfield?? and no one to play off blake who did well but only got a 6 off the express and star!! more like a 9 but stearman was the best player on the night different class.

I too disagree-we more than matched reading and the shots for stats prove that, trouble was we were 1.0 down “before” we kicked off-why-to much respect,Keogh saying we need to watch this player, that player, blah, blah.+ the same off others. Let them worry about us, welcome them to the mol yes-but end it there.
I half expected them to line up and clap them onto the field!
Lets win on saturday-WE ARE WOLVES.

Why make the snide dig about only signing players from Sunderland?
And Bridget & Tony (why can’t you have a log in each) – I think you’ve imagined “Keogh promising 20 goals”.

9 Games gone… 7 wins, 1 draw and 1 lose…
and your all on here moaning… Every other team in the league would love to be in our position…
Were gonna lose a few games this season, thats the way it goes, it’s how you react to them that counts… Get behind the team, and i mean the whole team… Reading wasn’t a great result.. but lets pick ourselves up and go and deal to Swansea… we have a good young hungry squad.. this league is there for the taking, and i for one think this year is our best ever chance of making it back to the premier…

59 Keogh was featured in an article in the E & S saying he would score 20 goals for the “real fans” this season – He apologised for saying it aswell a short time later – this year!
If you dont believe it check with the E & S before you start making remarks
ALL you Keogh lovers get real – Keogh is supposed to be a striker who scores goals not an attacking midfield player who leaves SEB to handle 3 Reading defenders on his own!!!
GOALS NOT STEP OVERS WIN GAMES!!! TWO STRIKERS NOT ONE!!!

Keogh has no positional sense, he tried in the second half to emulate kightly out on the wing but there was a massive difference, to me blake needs someone close to him to do quick 1-2s and shoot at goal if he as no one with him then he cant do the business, give vokes!! the chance at least against reading he was causing more concern to readings back four…

Like I said Bridgitony. FOOLS
The Wolves very own Chuckle Brothers/Sisters but just not funny.

I think MM needs to find Keogh a new position, like he has done with S Ward. He aint a striker so play him as an attacking midfielder. He wears the colours of the club so give the lad a break. Some fans make me sick and should be wearing the stripes of Albion.

63 So quick with the insults – so short on any real reasons – the ONLY fool is the one staring back at your ego in the mirror – Do you give your missus/ her indoors permission to speak?
As your name suggests “Prawn sandwich” – Not to be taken seriously/ generally people that know nothing about sport – We gather that’s what Roy Keane meant about the Prawn Sandwich brigade??? & you of course must be the leader? ;-)
64 Before people start giving themselves a heart attack – all that has been said about Keogh is that he aint a striker and cant score often enough to command a place as a striker – No one boos the lad when he is on the pitch – he simply aint up to playing that position So some fans make you sick – WHY? because they have a different opinion to yours???
UP THE WOLVES!!!

ANDREW KEOGH……….
is no where! near! good enuf for wolves at allllllllll! if he can get in the team and freddy eastwood can get sold there is sumfin wrong with mick mcarthy he needs to open his eyes and see keogh for what he is absoulutly useless i dnt even thin hes good enuf for any type of english football he needs to go back to ireland an rot! he scored today against swansea but scoring a couple of goals out of 10! games upfront is no where near like good enuf so MM sort urself out and give the irish tit the chop!

this is not the time for wolves fans to start turnin am no great fan of m m.m nor do i have any trust in steve morgan but when you look at table its still healthy so its no good knockin any players confidence by gettin on there backs if were adrift near x mass fair enough but we need to keep are support positive at this minute

Oh eck!! To lose one…fair enough it was expected. To lose two on the trot? hmmm something has gone pearshaped.
If Wolves fail to win their next game…the season will suddenly look a little bit like previous seasons. We just cant get the consistency over the whole season.

I think you’ll find I’ve given plenty of consistent opinions on here – Mostly all the polar opposites to your own.
Thanks for pointing out the weaknesses in my character, here I agree with you somewhat, 1, I have no patience with fools and 2, No I don’t take myself too seriously and I love stirring things up a bit.
But lets be honest, you do talk some drivel.

69 We can see ALOT of thought has gone into your reply – Did you work that out all by yourself or did you get parental help?

If we don;t get back on track soon, Reading and Brum will walk away with the top 2 places, leaving us to fend for ourselves in the play offs.We all then know what that means.
