Kidderminster continue to run the rule over striker Stefan Moore as the focus shifts to the visit of Barrow in the Blue Square Premier tomorrow (3pm).

The Harriers aim to finally top the league at the second week of asking, for the first time since they won the title in 2000, when they entertain the promoted side.

Mark Yates’ side boast a home record of just two points dropped in six games, while league leaders Crawley go to Burton Albion, three points ahead of Harriers with a goal difference of plus four.

Kidderminster could also have an ex-Premier League striker in their ranks in the not-too-distant future, with Moore training at Aggborough and scoring twice in a practice match in midweek.

The 25-year-old has some pedigree, with 22 appearances in the top-flight no less for first club Villa. He has also served the likes of QPR, Leicester and Walsall. His younger brother Luke is still flying high, a £3million signing for Albion in the summer.

Yates has already confirmed he plans further talks with the unattached player.

He said: “He’s been training with us and done well. But as yet nothing has been sorted and we’ll talk again.”

Looking to the Barrow game, Yates is calm, despite the prospect of becoming the first Harriers boss to top the league in eight years.

He said: “It is nice to be up there but the hard work is to keep it going. Barrow is another tough one but a game we can win. We have just got to keep going and carry this form on like we have been doing.

“It means nothing if we fall away now, even if we do go top. What matters is where we finish after 46 games.”
