Detectives investigating the killing, which happened at around 6.25pm last night, have continued interviewing witnesses today in a bid to discover what happened.

The tranquil setting of Burwaye Close was shattered last night when residents saw the 44-year-old man, who has not been named, collapse in a pool of blood outside flats on the cul-de-sac.

Residents on the Darwin Park street spoke to the Express & Star last night describing what happened following the stabbing.

One neighbour, whose young daughter was playing out in the street, said she cared for the 35-year-old woman, believed to live in a groundfloor flat on Burwaye Close, who suffered a deep cut to her hand.

Another home owner added: “I have lived here for three years since the estate was built and nothing like this has happened before.”
