As part of hit group Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Bongo Eddie travelled the world sharing bills with legends including James Brown and Al Green. The percussionist is leaving Newport, Shropshire, where he has lived with previous Big Brother winner Craig Philips, and is relocating to the city.

Among items on offer at Saturday’s sale were a black and red pin-striped suit worn by on international tours from 1986 to the early 90s. Eddie, real name Eddie Folk, said: “If someone came along and wanted to pay me £75 for it, it could be theirs.”

Eddie will be holding another sale at Craig’s house in Upper Bar this Saturday afternoon.
