Pop star Peter Andre will flick the switch to light up Dudley’s Merry Hill centre this Christmas – and his glamourous wife Jordan is expected to be by his side.

Andre was invited to perform the ceremony after winning the vote of mothers who use the centre.

The star will perform his hit Mysterious Girl plus a festive number before pressing the plunger and illuminating the malls. He will then sign autographs.

The singer was thrust back into the limelight in 2004 when he appeared on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here where he met the glamour model. Jordan, who now uses her Christian name Katie, is expected to accompany him to Dudley on November 20.

Other nominations included comic Alan Carr and pop band McFly.
