Man killed in car crash

A man died after the car he was travelling in collided with a tree along one of the main routes into Birmingham city centre sparking rush-hour chaos.
The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash along Hagley Road near to the Five Ways traffic island during the early hours.
He is believed to have been trapped in the vehicle for more than five hours. The crash happened near to the Plough and Harrow pub just after 3am this morning.
