Nige wants the perfect Villa week

reocokerbowyer2.jpgMidfielder Nigel Reo-Coker has called on Villa to ‘make it a perfect week’ by defeating Albion in Sunday’s derby.

Villa have completed phase two as Reo-Coker, Gareth Barry and Stiliyan Petrov goals saw them fight back from a goal down to win 3-1 in Bulgaria against Litex Lovech.

The performance did fail to reach the standards set in Monday’s 2-1 success over Tottenham. Man-of-the-match Reo-Coker, on the scoresheet for a second time in three days, admitted the Villa players were still feeling the after-effects of their exertion in the capital.

He does insist they will be raring to go when they travel to the Hawthorns on Sunday, bidding to make it three wins in seven days.

He said: “It would cap off a perfect week and we have to approach every game with confidence. I wouldn’t say fatigue is a concern. We have the right facilities and staff and the players have the right attitude.”

Boss Martin O’Neill was also pleased with the displays of debutant Carlos Cuellar and James Milner in Bulgaria, with the latter making his second full bow in claret and blue.

O’Neill said: “I was absolutely delighted with Carlos Cuellar. James will settle down and be absolutely brilliant for us, there is absolutely no doubt about that.”
