Time to map out a plan for Villa's future
- Says blogger Matthew Turvey
Wolves 2 Crystal Palace 1
Wednesday 17th September 2008, 8:38AM BST.
Goals from Sylvain Ebanks-Blake and Andrew Keogh ensured Wolves stayed top of the Championship with victory over Crystal Palace at Molineux.
Ebanks-Blake fired the home side ahead inside the first minute, giving Palace keeper Julian Speroni no chance with his finish.
The visitors drew level before half time thanks to Paul Ifill’s smart finish from Kieran Djilali’s cross.
However, Keogh headed in the winner for Wolves on 58 minutes after Julian Speroni had parried Ebanks-Blake’s shot.

These Albion fans are pathetic, they win one game against a weakened Hammers side and it gives them the right to slag us off because we scraped a win with only 22000 fans at Molineux! Funny how it all went quiet before they beat West Ham……….Anyway, we missed Jarvis last night, his pace pulls defences apart. Still, Warnock’s teams are difficult to beat so it was a great result. Well done lads!

To the Boggies fans who are so interested in our crowd, well I was there and Palace only took around 200, if that. Wolves area was over 90% full on a midweek game.
Once again Boggie boys, I have never took any interest in your team or crowd. Glad to see you have a chip on both shoulders about your bigger neighbour’s, Wolves.

Can we not turn yet another article into a farce by changing it into a Wolves vs Albion debate. Whats the point ? You all say one thing then they say the next. The comments ain’t even that good. A 2 yr old could have a better argument. How about just comment on your own sides and stop comparing. Who cares about them ? Or any other team. Its what happens with your OWN teams that matters ! !

palace bought a mini bus full. so you can’t knock the attendance. especially a tues night game with people at work etc.
thought spearman was top draw. but we look so weak on the left side with collins, ward and keogh. sorry but we won’t last the season at the top with these three in the team.
we look a different team without jarvis and iwelumo. thought edwards did well, great passer of the ball with henry next to him.
tough game on saturday. take a point all day long. but we said that about Charlton, so.

So what league are Sheff Utd in,over 24.000 for a mid table team, AY AS BIG AS YA THINK.
Albion’s AVERAGE gate was 22,310 last season. That includes when you got 28,000 against us thus boosting your average. Our average so far this season is 23,300 (1,000 more than you and still disappointing for us). Palace bought about 200 fans last night so with an average away following we would have had a crowd of about 23,000 (higher than Albion’s average). Wolves are better supported than Albion, not by much but they are, always have been, always will be.

just ignore the scum, because of our table topping start to the season they’ve got nothing negative to say about us so the only thing they can do is criticize an attendance for a midweek game against crystal palace, its a shame for them, they really are scraping the barrel for things to say about us
Report abuse
I Think it’s pretty funny that baggies fans have 2 result 2 having ago about what our attendance is 4 a mid week game. GET A LIFE!!!
terryEASYWINbaggie you really havent got a brain have you. Your first 3 home attendances in the league last year: 19,556, 18,310 and 19,460. Thats an average of 19109. Compare that to our first 3 home games: 22,491, 25,301 and 22,200. That gives us an average of 23,331, thats nearly 4000 more on average over the same amont of games in the same league. And who said its Palaces fault that we couldnt sell our home tickets?!
Good luck against the Villa by the way, maybe if you added the goals your going to conceed this season to your average above it would improve it.

Why dont you push off and keep your nose out! I was at the game last night and all the empty seats were in the away fans section in the Steve Bull stand. The lazy cockneys don’t like to make the effort to get off their butts to travel north of Watford. So dont mock the good support from the Wolves fans. You are jealous because we are flying! Yes there will be rough patches but we’re going to have your place next season in the Prem! Green with envy I think!

Good win whilst not hitting the heights of recent performances, however I thought Mick bottled it somewhat tactically against Warnock.
So far this season we have bossed teams and played high tempo football utilising wide areas and stretching teams. Last night though it was us who adapted (at home)to suit the away team. For a long period Kites was pulled into the middle to make a central 3 and Keogh didn’t hold his wide position. When we did finally revert back to something like 4-4-2 we looked a far better and more dangerous team creating quite a few good chances.
I am not knocking the result of the effort the lads put in, but I think we made it hard for ourselves by tinkering what so far has been a very fruitful formula. Lets go for it and let teams worry about us, especially at Molineux.
Not quite we are used to this season. Having to grind results out. But not every game will be a goal-fest so we need to know how to do what we did last night…win without playing well. Stearman was a rock and is really starting to establish himself at the Mol. Bring on Preston!
42-Agree-But we could fill the place if Wolves looked at their pricing-
Took the neioghbour for a prese–Two tickets £60 plus a booking fee and that was buying same over the counter-
Whats the booking fee all about?.
Attendances have dropped yes but that has been a trend since Derby game two seasons ago-We are still well up on the average above Sandwell—
At least there a decent places to visit in our Town area -plenty of Bank’s-
Nothing at the Hawthorns just broken down buildings and closed up pubs-What a place-Crazey Dave.

When oh when will MM see the light and show the door to Collins ?
Gifted them a goal, almost cost us another shortly before by heading infield rather than out for a throw which would have avoided the danger.
We are doing well but cannot afford to carry a passenger.
Likewise, for all Ward’s effort he is going to turned inside out by a decent flank player- use a full back for a full back role, not a centre forward.

A good result which we had to grind out, you have to do this if you want to win any league as nobody will win every game at a canter.
Message to all baggies fans who frequent this board. You say that you only come here to wind up the wolves fans. Maybe, but also your quite clearly jealous of Wolves and the fact deep down you realise your nothing more than a middle of the road club who are punching above their weight. A bit like Fulham i suppose. I dont see the need to go on your boards because quite honestly Albion are pretty unimportant as far as im concerened, I have better things to do with my time.
We are, always have been and always will be a bigger club. That is a fact, im not just saying it because i support Wolves, live with it its true.
Last night on skypsorts news Jon Solako refered to us as a big club with great support, why would he say this if it wasnt true??? Now I can honestly say that i have never heard WBA being refered to as a big club either by outsiders, midlanders or even WBA fans themselves. Instead you try to wind up the fans of your more illustrious neighbours. Sad very sad, but understandable i suppose.

Not a bad result saying that wolves had to adjust a little, i know some players are tired with the schedule ect, but they did very well against a palace side who gave their all. they deserve a well earned rest well done lads. just one other thing cant (((TERRY TESCO KID))) take a holiday or something.

I was trying to work out how to stop Baggie fans coming on this website. Then it came to me……
A small IQ TEST, to confirm their small IQs – couple of questions – that all. They are after all the thickest fans you’ll ever meet.

has terryEASYWINbaggie actually got a life? seems to me all he does is sit on here typing nonsense. the albion play “lovely football.” yeah, with a super 4-5-1 formation and a idiot up front. its not so rosy down tesco. Typical albion, cant accept that we have undeniable youth and talent. Shame your lot go and waste money on Spanish prima donnas

Can you believe it Wolves Fans ? Just as soon as we get off to a totally unexpected brilliant start,Sandwell Tesco Billy no sponsors come on here and have the cheek to have a dig at us.
Are you saddos only coming on our message boards because you have nothing to brag about (except for being Premiership whipping BOYS,who just beat a managerless, sponsorless, clueless team, who will hammer you in the return fixture)
P.S You can only get decent gates, because most of your tickets go to the corporate (faggots and peas)brigade.
