Poundland owners put stores on market
Monday 15th September 2008, 10:18AM BST.
West-Midlands-based budget store chain Poundland is to be put up for sale, according to reports.
Its private equity owners are said to be cashing in on the resurgence in value retailers.
Advent International is understood to be appointing advisers soon for a possible sale of Poundland, where everything is sold for £1.
Advent was also said to be considering a flotation, although a deal is thought to be unlikely until after the results of the key Christmas selling period.
The report comes as figures show that value retailers are seeing business boom. Supermarket giant Morrisons said last week that its value ranges were top sellers.
