Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Hill out injured for Wolves
Monday 15th September 2008, 11:22AM BST.
Wolves have suffered a blow after new signing Matt Hill was ruled out with medial knee ligament damage.
The 27-year-old left-back, who is yet to play following his deadline day move from Preston, suffered the injury in training.
Boss Mick McCarthy said: “He’ll be out for three to four weeks.”
The news means Hill definitely misses a reunion with his old club at Deepdale on Saturday and would appear to be out of contention until after the next international break, after which Wolves return to play Coventry on October 18.
Wolves have had some good news on the injury front, over George Elokobi and Chris Iwelumo.
Elokobi underwent an operation last Wednesday to repair the cruciate ligament on his left knee, rather than the multiple ligament damage first feared.
McCarthy said: “I spoke to George on the way back on Saturday. He’s had his operation and he’s had his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) repaired.
“I don’t think it was as extensive as they thought and they’re quite pleased with it. They will get him back.
“Now he’s got to get into his rehabilitation. It will be quite a long time – still pre-season next year – but he’ll be fine. He’s such a positive guy, I’d imagine he’ll break world records for coming back.”
Iwelumo pulled out following the warm-up of Saturday’s win against Charlton after aggravating a groin injury.
McCarthy said: “Chris has just got a tight groin, but he’ll be fine. Whether he’ll be alright for tomorrow, we’ll see.
“I don’t know yet but we’ll give him every chance to be available. Matt Jarvis has a tight groin, Andy Keogh got a kick on the ankle when we got the penalty, Stephen Ward has a number of bumps and bruises but I think they’ll be OK.”
