Another international break over and back to a weekend of normality. Well, thats if you can describe an 8:00 kick off in North London on a Monday night as normality!

After the heroics shown by Walcott and Co on Wednesday, the Premier League gets back into full swing this weekend, pitting us against Spurs, with many experts expecting a backlash from Ramos’ side after failing to deliver so far.

They were linked with every player and indeed signed a few one of them this summer, so expectations are high at White Hart Lane.

With them sitting in the relegation places they will surely start to pick up soon, after this weekend would be favourable to us of course!

We will hopefully have some of the injured players returning for this game, with Carlos Cuellar expected to be on the bench at least.

Manager Martin O’Neill has stated this week that most of the squad will play some part, as we head into three games in seven days, with the trip to Lovech coming on Thursday in between Monday’s game and Sunday’s trip to the Hawthorns.

After last year’s 4-4 draw against Spurs, this one promises to be just as entertaining, with Villa likely to include Milner on the right.

The lack of delivery to Carew and Agbonlahor against Liverpool will have shown O’Neill what was lacking. With the Spurs midfield full of classy internationals, a closely fought game will end in another high scoring game.

Thursday in Lovech will be a different game altogether, with the Bulgarians playing a more physical direct style. This might be the game that Cuellar and Davies form the centre of defence, giving Laursen a deserved break.

A few away goals would be a bonus. It would be nice to go into the second leg on October 2 with the oppurtunity to rest some more senior players, with the passage into the group stages a formality.

A week to look forward to for Villa fans, one I hope will shape the rest of our seas
