Little action on flooding

Friday 12th September 2008, 12:44AM BST.

Letter: I wish the residents of Halesowen luck in trying to get Dudley Council to sort out the problems with their local brook (Express & Star, September 8).

We have a similar situation here in Woodsetton; the local Swan Brook first flooded my father’s house in September 1976. Every time the brook has overflowed since, it has been reported to Dudley Council by residents who suffer flooding.

My father’s house (he is 80 this year)Êwas once again flooded out in June last year, and again water reached under the floorboards in July this year but thankfully subsided before any major damage was done.

I myself wrote to the department concerned last year and this year, as well as the local MP and councillor, and I amÊstill trying to get something done.

M J Stones, Jesson Road, Woodsetton.
